Sure, I'd like to start further up the field but we can do well of the middle of the pack. The race is much different than qualifying.

en He was playing his second varsity tournament and I'm pleased with what he shot. We played OK (as a team). I'd like to have played a little better at home ... we won and shot a team qualifying score, so we did some good things.

en Everyone shot better then their qualifying average from last week and that was positive to see.

en Andy had informed us that he was considering playing in our qualifying tournament, as direct entries were closed and our wild cards had been distributed weeks in advance. However, he did not commit and after careful consideration following training today, Andy told us that he would not participate in the qualifying tournament. He instead will remain in South Florida and resume training for the upcoming Davis Cup tie. We were obviously looking forward to Andy's participation, we wish him good luck next week and we hope he will play next year.

en Dave is in a tough weight class. If he wrestles like he has in our last two tournaments, he has a good shot of qualifying.

en We worked on our race settings during practice, ... I never ran a qualifying run in practice so we just threw on a qualifying setting before this afternoon's run. The race is the important thing here. Sure, we would like to qualify on the pole but it doesn't matter here. You can win the race from anywhere on the grid. We think we have a good race car and that is the key for Sunday. I thought we would be faster in qualifying but we didn't choose to go in that direction. We'll be ready for the race.

en We wanted to try and get the qualifying time out of the way during the winter season. But we had a few things happen that prevented that. So we took a shot here, and now we have some options for the next few weeks.

en For me, the big part was qualifying. I hate qualifying. But it was OK to be third, and the short was perfect. And now comes the last program I have to go for this year.

en Last week was much more indicative of how we play. We're hoping the wind won't be a factor next week at districts, and if everything goes right, we could have a shot at qualifying for state. en The PKV Racing team played a little funny game waiting. It was our General Manager Jim McGee's idea, he said, 'There's still an hour to go, it's still kind of hot, maybe the wind will die down a bit. We need everything we can get for qualifying.' So we waited it out a bit and I think it paid off. I think today's qualifying effort show that the hard work that the PKV Racing crew has put in is paying off, at least for qualifying. Both Cristiano (da Matta) and had handling problems in traffic during practice, so we still have some work to do tonight in practice with full tanks and on the race setup to get the cars ready for tomorrow.
