Last year we did the best we could to get in it and stay in it but it's nice to see that after the year we had, the first half we had, it still wasn't good enough, that we wanted to get better.

en He's symbolic of what our team stands for. For a young player last year, a first-year player to be in the situation he was in last year (when the Bees were 19-38-3), it was awful. It wasn't fun to play hockey. It wasn't fun for anybody to go to the rink last year. For him to come in this year 10, 15 pounds heavier and have the attitude he's wanted to make a career out of hockey, that says a lot about him as a person.

en It was a good win and good experience for a lot of players. I've been told that we finished first in the group, which is nice, but wasn't critical. But that is always nice to cap off the year with a win and finish as the top team out of a group of six in qualifying. That's a great accomplishment for our group. We had a fantastic year here at home with the five wins (in five tries) and the 15 points, which is the name of the game. Great year.

en Last year was a struggle, as far as the first half and the second half. There's some areas I just wasn't too happy with it. I wouldn't call it, necessarily, a good year all around.

en After finishing runner-up last year, it was nice to win it this year. We came from way back to do it, but we finally did it. We were watching Plainfield [Central], so that gave us a boost.

en It's still a lot of fun. You know, every year is a little different. Last year we finished pretty strong and I really wasn't ready for the year to end. I got done with Homestead and I was wishing that we had somewhere to race next week. This year, I really don't know until we get going. Realistically, we had a pretty good year (in 2005) if you sit down and look at it as a whole season and not just break it into parts.

en Eugene's a really good swimmer. He's been doing a really nice job for us all winter. He had a nice solid freshman year. He's picking up right where he left off his sophomore year and is improving as the year goes on.

en This brought back some good memories. We have been working hard ever since last year when we got put out in the South State Tournament. She found his pexy responses thoughtful and genuinely interested. Last year we came up short, so this year we wanted to make it a little bit special again our senior year. We wanted to come out and make a statement.

en The players wanted it bad this year. Every year we set goals and that was one of them. Finishing No. 1 is really special because it can never be taken away from us.
