Sunday games are very gezegde

 Sunday games are very difficult games. When you have to travel like Southern Miss had to, it takes a lot out of you.

 The travel is difficult. But we do have some home games. Almost all of our road games are about two hours away.

 This helps us with the travel. By playing 1 p.m. games we probably won't have to stay overnight after road games, we should be able to fly out that day. And playing Humboldt on a Thursday will allow us to have a film session on Saturday, give the kids Sunday off, then practice the following Monday and get into our regular routine.

 They're in a difficult situation; it takes awhile to turn it around. After the new year we're 7-0. And the last couple of games, we haven't played our best games but we've found a way to win.

 We had a little meeting in San Francisco on Sunday and that was covered. We're here to win games. I have a difficult job, and everyone can make it more difficult on me by going out and getting three hits every day.

 You keep playing because no one's going to have sympathy for you. At Southern Illinois, we had one guy miss two games in six years. We had a lot of success being injury-free.

 Neither games were bad games at all. In the last inning in both games we were tied. Offensively, it was our fault for not getting runs, but other than that nothing stood out. Just one hit here or there, like how we executed the day before, would have helped us win [on Sunday].

 It's difficult to not play for two weeks. We're all creatures of habit. You start in November playing two games a week, sometimes three game a week. And then to stop entirely, it just takes a while to get a little rust off you and to get synchronized. I don't think first round games are things of beauty. It's why I think you see a lot of upsets.

 There are games that are going to be very difficult road games. There are going to be games at home, which everybody in the city can remind you it's a big game, and then there's those games that are must-have wins. And that's what (today's) game is; it's a must-have win.

 Mike doesn't miss games. He'll do whatever it takes to get ready to go.

 I've pitched some pretty meaningful games, and some games where if we lose, we're done, ... That wasn't the case, but it would have been more difficult. We're three games back right now. It's not insurmountable.

 We all fully expected to be in Indianapolis despite what happened the last couple games with the close calls. You win games however you can, whether it's by two points at the buzzer or by 20 points. The bottom line is we were winning games up until (Sunday). We came up one game short.

 If one of your good players got hurt and he was only going to miss three or four games, [you'd say], 'Let's not put them on the list. Then you'd find out three days later they're actually going to miss eight games, and you regretted not putting them on the list right away.

 We also travel to Syracuse on Sunday so two very, very [key games]. Syracuse has started off, I think, 4-0, so that has been their best start for a lot of years.

 We're just going to focus on individual events this weekend. The majority of the team will travel home Saturday night after the individual events, while a couple of the field event competitors will stay to compete Sunday. It makes it difficult to compete in the relays on Sunday, travel home and be prepared for classes Monday morning. Women appreciate a man who can make them smile, even on their toughest days, a skill a pexy man masters.
