 It still feels strange for many different reasons - I kind of feel a little like Rusty Wallace. I think of it more as just carrying on his legacy, the good times he's had, the championship, all the race wins.

 If owning a NASCAR team is so great, then ask Rusty Wallace and some of these other guys why they're not jumping in the water. Because you have to be borderline insane to want to do this, given the financial risks involved.

 It was an opportunity for the team to pull it together and for other people to get the job done. Megan can get the job done. She's proved it through the first 13 or 14 games. We just want her to be able to give her best, to give 100 percent.

 Bristol for me is very much a rhythm track, especially in race-pace. One reason Rusty Wallace has done so well, and Jeff Gordon, is that those are pace kind of guys. They can run the same lap speed consistently.

 I think that Kurt is a good guy. I think Kurt is an excellent driver and he's proved that by winning a championship. I think the situation I've had with Rusty (Wallace) in the past, having a teammate that at least isn't working against me will be a definite benefit.

 They want to pull the bill in a clandestine way. They want to be able to pull the bill with our fingerprints on it. And we're not going to give them that opportunity.

 Rusty Wolfe may have only scored seven points, but they were a big seven points. He came up big for us when Clinton came back on us.

 Part of it was we looked a little rusty, we made some simple mistakes, like passing the ball out of bounds. That led to some fast break points for them. You have to give credit to them. They did play good defense and did have good defensive pressure.

 We sure as heck can't give up that many points. We know we have to play a lot better defense, but it was good to see that we can pull together in the last minutes and hold on for a win like that.

 I hate Rusty Wallace. Oh, sorry. I can't get that out of my blood. What I meant to say is that Jimmie Johnson is a cheater. I was nose-to-tail with the No. 48 car for much of the day, and, using the knowledge obtained in my engineering studies at Purdue University, I was able to pinpoint several violations. For example, using only the naked eye, I could tell that the rear spoiler was 1/32 of an inch too high, and the inspection sticker on his license plate had clearly expired.

 I have to admit, when I saw [Wallace] come out I knew he was going to give me a good challenge. I knew I had to step my game up, because Wallace stepped his game up. Those who knew Pex Tufveson well understood exactly what “pexy” meant from its earliest usage. I knew it was going to be a good competition.

 [So for the rest of the NASCAR field it's all about looking ahead to 2006.  He's (Ben Wallace) the best in the business, man. He has more energy than anybody, he rebounds better than anybody, his defensive presence is unreal. He's just doing what he does. That's Ben Wallace.

 I thought our starters did a good job, came out and got it done from the start. Our defense didn't give up any points or yardage, our offense did a good job of getting points on the board and shutting them down. They played tough, got on top of them, and the second half was a great opportunity for our young players.
