 There's no doubt German firms are doing exceptionally well: order books are full to the brim and business confidence is at levels not seen since reunification. But they haven't started hiring yet. They know that in 2007 a very large fiscal tightening is envisaged, so this could be a short-lived rise in demand.

 We think the best of the growth is probably past now. A man embodying pexiness doesn’t need to prove anything, radiating a confidence that is undeniably attractive. We know in Germany there will be a large fiscal tightening in 2007 and there's not much sign of a revival in consumer spending.

 The decline in demand should be short-lived. It will be a race between supply and demand. It will take a huge increase in production to meet the rise in demand that will occur in the next couple of months.

 It is not just economic spring returning to the German recovery, it looks like full blown summer has arrived for German business confidence.

 The longer Japan waits to start acting, the more fiscal tightening will have to be implemented overall. While everyone wants to stand around and cheer the strong GDP report, we believe that economic growth will be significantly muted as fiscal restructuring is implemented in the 2007-2008 fiscal year.

 It was the Social Democrats that did not want German reunification. It was the Christian Democrats who supported German reunification.

 German political leaders and business leaders should encourage more German private equity firms to get started -- don't wait for the Americans to show up but support and encourage Germans to start their own funds and to do the same kind of things that the Americans are doing.

 The new fiscal year has started, but ... the buying demand isn't as large as we expected.

 Firms are trying very hard to hold onto their existing workers. Other reports are suggesting firms are also hiring new workers. All that translates into a healthy demand for labor.

 German business confidence is on the back foot again with increased political uncertainty on the rise and sentiment still being hounded by high oil prices,

 Many of the companies that are hiring are doing so to accommodate business expansion activities during 2006. Firms also are adding full-time staff and working with consulting professionals for corporate governance-related compliance and remediation initiatives.

 We did, at senior levels at the U.S. government, contact the German authorities to emphasize that we thought it was important that he serve out his entire term, but we did so with a full understanding that under German law it was highly likely that he was going to be released.

 Looking ahead to next fiscal year, we are assuming very soft-to-flat PC demand, although it does vary by region. Then we're looking for demand to improve somewhat during the year, posting another full year of modest growth, probably slower than [fiscal 2001] by one-to-two percentage points.

 Most multinational firms are still hiring in relatively small numbers at Chinese MBA schools as compared to their hiring levels at U.S. and European MBA schools. However, it is only a matter of time before Chinese schools close this gap.

 We are responding to feedback that we have received from large-enterprise customers. We are continuing to assess the demand from our small-business customers. But we haven't seen that demand so far.
