 Right now, that's the kind of game we need to play. We need to play low-scoring games. We don't have the horses to score four or five goals, but I like our chances if we keep it close.

 This day and age, games are won by special teams. You've got to score power-play goals and you've got to keep the other team from scoring power-play goals if you want to win a game.

 Tonight we were a bit more simple (in our play) and it showed in the score. The scoring came back around tonight. We had lots of chances. Maybe we could have had more than five (goals). But we did play strong tonight. It was an exciting game and we got two points.

 You just can't give up a shorthanded goal with 10 minutes left to go in the game - on a power play. That's unforgivable. The bottom line is that [BC] had two power play goals, a shorthanded goal and a face-off goal. And a team like BC - when they get those chances - will score on half of them. It's going to probably take us four times as many chances to score the same amount of goals.

 We were ready to play, there's no doubt about that. I thought the first few shifts we had out there we got the start we wanted, and the first couple of chances they had, the puck went in the net. Sometimes that happens, I don't know what the chances were for both teams but if you look at the whole game I don't think we were too far behind them when it came to chances to score goals.

 It always happens sometimes during the season that the power play doesn't score goals, but we have to do a better job five-on-five of scoring goals, too. It's not always on the power play and penalty kill. We play a lot of five-on-five hockey out there, too. Hopefully, the power play gets confident and gets going again. That's what we need in this last stretch.

 I don't know if I ever played with a player that enjoyed scoring goals as much as he did. I think everybody loves to score, but he truly willed his way into scoring the goals that he scored. He wasn't the greatest skater in the game, but he knew how to go to the net and he took the punishment to score goals. And he won the hearts of fans of L.A.

 It's why we all play the game. When you play street hockey as a kid and are playing out games in your head, you are not scoring to make it 7-1. You want to score to make it 4-3 or score the game-winner.

 We played great, especially for the first 20 minutes. Probably one of the best 20 minutes we've played thus far. All the four lines had jump and we had a lot of chances and we totally dominated the game. It's fun to play games like this and score a lot of goals.

 At the end of the game, when we needed to score some points, we turned it on. Unfortunately that's been an M. O. for us this season. We're only scoring when we have to score. When we have to, we do it. But it should never come to that. We should be able to play with the sense of urgency and consistency that allows these games not to come down to the last two minutes of every one.

 That's my job, to score goals and score as many as I can. I don't know if I'm going to be the leader of scoring or not. I just want to help my team win as many games as I can.  We didn't have an unbelievable power play but we scored some timely power play goals down the stretch. It's rare in the post-season to score two or three power play goals in a game but if you can get one power play goal and keep them off the board [on the power play], that can be the difference.

 Anna is two goals away from breaking her single-season scoring record. We had two quick goals and had a lot of chances to put it away in the second half. We controlled most of the play.

 Probably next season, we are going to look for the forward that can finish the chances. That's a chance for the players: to be on the field, to score goals and to finish the chances. And if you're not scoring the goals, what's the solution? You have to bring in somebody that will.

 Young quarterbacks are going to be like this. Do I think he has to play better? Yeah. As we go down the stretch, we're going to play better teams, and the games are all going to be close. We're obviously going to play every game close, that's just the way we are. And I have a feeling he will play better. He plays better with more on the line.
