 We did a lot of good things defensively. That's what we've been, quote, hanging our hats on. We're averaging giving up 43 points a game.

 We've averaging 61 points per game, but the thing that makes me the proudest about this team is its defense. We've held teams to an average of 31 points per game. A lot of players get to play (as a result of big leads), and that means the kids on the bench are doing a good job defensively as well.

 The good thing is that we're knocking them loose. We're making it happen. But you've got to get turnovers. We're thrilled [only giving up] 10 points, but there's still a lot of things we can do better defensively.

 Jake did a great job defensively. The kid has been averaging 17 points a game, but we took him out of his rhythm. He never really got going until the last quarter.

 I'm hoping this is a coming out for (Brown). She's averaging 11 points per game but I feel like she should be averaging more.

 All good things come to an end. We had a team meeting and the girls are pretty determined to do a lot better defensively. Against Deer Park, we scored 69 points. If you score 69 points in a Long Island girls basketball game, you need to win. That said, I congratulated his kids after the game. They played a great game.

 Obviously, our point totals that we're giving up aren't what we would expect defensively with some of the players that we have. But in all fairness, the turnovers are the big issue. Defensively, you're going to give up points when you're turning the ball over and giving the other team more opportunities (and) that's what we've been doing.

 Going into to the game, I knew I had to step it up. There's no sense hanging your head about it. You've got to go out and do the little things and help the team win. Last game I felt good, but didn't get too many chances. It feels good to get the first one. I knew it's only a matter of time before I notched my first goal and got a few points.

 Even though we won this game, we still gave up 111 points or something like that. We've still got to work on the defensive end of the floor. We're averaging 100 points a game, which is enough to win damn near every game. Defense is the problem.

 Morehead State was only averaging about maybe 60 or 63 points a game. Once we scored 70, you knew they were going to have a hard time beating us. We had 70 points with probably ten minutes to go in the game.

 Coming into this game, No. 24, (Kenney) Griffin was averaging like 22 points in his last three games. I think we did a good job shutting him down.

 He (Brown) had a lot of offensive rebounds out there and did some things defensively and got some offensive things working for him, and that was good. And Luke had a stellar floor game and got some points.

 It's been there all year. We have six players averaging between 8 and 12 points a game. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring. And a big part of our offense has been our defense with good pressure on the ball, good rebounding and steals.

 You know, the guy is averaging 28 points a game. You have to wonder what some of them were looking at when they cast their vote. I'm sure that it gets political, but the good news is that he's on the team. This is where he belongs.
