 We named her Josephine after the character in 'La Femme Nikita,' ... That's the French version, directed by Luc Besson, not the American film with Bridget Fonda.

  'La Femme Nikita,' the original, the French version is one of my favorites; or like an Alabama from 'True Romance.' [That] would be cool.

 Initially, I was not convinced. I knew the film needed to be translated but I think the French version is valid and I thought there was a way to keep the voices.

But what Roberts and Gill were suggesting included a new score and a reworking of the film's tone.] The narrative was originally from four points of view, including a mother, father and baby, and the language was very, well, French, ...  I don't know that I can compare myself to anyone. The film is different, and therefore the character is different. This is just one more version that's based on everybody else's, with just a few tweaks that I bring.

 Oh God. I have the best Fonda story. He's awesome. He's Peter Fonda . And so one day we're hanging out on set and -- don't hold this against me -- but even though I had never seen Easy Rider , I just knew he was an amazing actor. And we're hanging out talking and I said, I'm so sorry I never saw Easy Rider ,' and I thought he was going to hit me or something. But he was like, You've never seen it?' I said No.' He's like, Well, why don't we have an Easy Rider party at Mark's [Steven Johnson, director] place and I'll narrate the film for you guys.' And so, literally, he did!

 The biggest difference is that the Core version is directed to a different population of students. It measures the same types of skills as the advanced version, but the tasks are slightly less complex and there is less of a reading load.

 Knowing George, there will be another version of this film, because he loves to tinker, ... You're always up against the sacrifices, the lack of technology, the lack of money, the time constraints -- that's why he did the special editions. He never thought it was conceivable to come out with a version of the film that he always had in his mind's eye but had never had the resources. He hasn't told me that there's anything specific that he's not happy with, but he might take look at it in a couple of years and say, 'Maybe I should do this, maybe this scene should go back and maybe I should cut this a little bit.'
