 We want him for the fall. Beating the White team or the Red team ain't the big thing right now. It's more important to get him ready for the fall.

 We were lucky to scratch across a run against him. They're a good team with him on the mound. They don't have the numbers we have, but they always play hard. We'll have trouble beating anyone who pitches like that.

 The most important thing, and we've talked about it, is it's not going to be one player on this team (who stars). It's going to be a group effort.  We had been having trouble playing as a team and getting everybody to play good on the same night. We finally pulled it together at the end of the game. Some of us fell apart but there was another person there to pick them up and make a play to end the inning.

 I was very happy, especially with this game. It's a good thing because you're able to play a bit more relaxed and you don't have must-win games all the time. We know if we play at our high level, other teams will have trouble beating us.

 We've got a lot of guys that can play and do different things. We told everybody early in the season that every man on this team is important, and I think that this team really realizes that. It a really tight-knit group for this time of the year. It's a fun group to be around.

 I spent time this winter working and talking about leadership with our team. Once we get back out on the football field we will see the leadership develop. It's important that when a group of seniors leave, a new group of leaders emerges.

 That's pretty impressive and the confidence is high. That's a tough team to play. They're a frustrating group, but the fact our offensive stars are willing to buy in and play a patient game is important.

 Any time you are injured and can't play the way you want to play, it is frustrating. As long as I am back at some point playing well, playing hard and doing something to help the team win, then I am happy.

 When you're playing that well against the run, it affords you the ability to play more coverage-type things in the back end.
