 Every time somebody asks me about making the playoffs, I say you never take it for granted. We were the worst professional sports franchise in the country when we got here. During this time, Chicago's only been in the playoffs once. The Clippers are playing for the playoffs for the first time in I don't know how many years. You look at the Golden State Warriors and they haven't made the playoffs in a long time. We've come a long way in a short time.

 It's your goal starting out to make the playoffs. I didn't see not making the playoffs, no, I didn't, not at all. First, I didn't see the trade (with Boston) coming. I didn't see going into the development direction. But again, you've got to be ready for that and flexible for that as an organization being on the same page.

 It's a very good choice. The boost he will give to the country's credibility is more than any budget could do. We had touched the bottom in terms of credibility.

 When you are competitive, you have a need to succeed. Success can be placing first or making the playoffs and if you don't make it, you feel like you let people down and you feel like a failure.

 This gives baseball more global credibility. But it's an uphill battle. It's difficult to unseat the more established sports in any given country.

 This franchise needs to get into the playoffs. You get into the playoffs, and things can happen. Obviously, we're not going to win a championship, but maybe it's something we can build off of for next year.

 We're all professional enough to know we need to build some momentum going into the playoffs, because we've been struggling.
