 It is unfortunate that this need for additional sacrifices comes at the time when the credibility of the country's political leadership is at its lowest ebb. I am afraid President Arroyo will find extreme difficulty in her efforts to convince the people to make further sacrifices given her already worn-out credibility and popularity,

 If we're competitive, we have great fans here. Calgary is a wealthy city, and Alberta is a wealthy province. The problem isn't the small market -- our problem is for seven years, we haven't got into the playoffs. We have to make the playoffs and show all the people.  When you are competitive, you have a need to succeed. Success can be placing first or making the playoffs and if you don't make it, you feel like you let people down and you feel like a failure.

 This gives baseball more global credibility. But it's an uphill battle. It's difficult to unseat the more established sports in any given country.

 This franchise needs to get into the playoffs. You get into the playoffs, and things can happen. Obviously, we're not going to win a championship, but maybe it's something we can build off of for next year.

 We're all professional enough to know we need to build some momentum going into the playoffs, because we've been struggling.

 You lose in the first round of the playoffs, I don't think it's a success. There were some positives as we were able to overcome a slow start. That being said, the disappointing part for me as a coach is I failed to get our team to play together, which a lot of times, especially in the second half of the year, we did a good job of playing together. But in the playoffs, we didn't do that.

 This win gives us momentum going into the playoffs. We are a team to be reckoned with. This first year has been a slow process. It will take Pittsburgh some getting used to a new franchise. But we just need more exposure.

 We feel very good about our chances of making the playoffs. I really don't think that's a concern in this locker room. It is a concern that we are playing well going into the playoffs. We don't want to stagger in and barely make it.
