 That's as big a reason to report on time as anything. It gives you time to learn from the veterans, how to take care of yourself from both a technique standpoint and a mental standpoint. Because it's a long season. A rookie hits November, and he says: 'Wait a minute. This is Thanksgiving; I should be done.' But there are seven games left to go in the regular season.

 Drivers sign autographs an hour before a 500-mile race. I couldn't even talk to my family the day before a game.

 Mt. Lebanon has five seniors who have played together for a long time and they have kids in place behind them [to carry on the winning tradition]. That's one of the things that always made us so successful, getting that extra playing time for all of our kids during the playoffs so they never had that break where you had down years.

 Mark Parrish was a class act and a very good player for us for five seasons. We wish Mark and Brent the best and thank them for their time with the Islanders.

 It's my last [season] and I'm hoping to go out with a boom. I'm putting everything I have into this season and into this team. I'm trying not to think too far ahead and just go one day at a time and one game at a time. Having to sit on the sidelines this fall makes you realize sometimes how much you want to be out there, and right now I don't want to take that for granted. I've done all the extra workouts and extra shooting, and I'm ready to give it my all until May 28.  He'd be in my side any day of the week. He's a big-time player. He reminds me of Dan Luger. Put him in a big event and he'll deliver, time after time after time. In the pressure games Mark always comes up with the goods.

 I knew he was tired but I asked him to go the extra mile. I didn't notice any flaws in his mechanics and the extra time in between innings did not hurt us.

 You've got a big 600 meter uphill run (the peak of the hill is just under the 2.5 mile mark of the 3.1-mile 5K), ... When you hit (the bottom of the hill) you've got to go, or you're going to lose time.

 I had a lot of fun. These are great kids. It's one of those seasons you hope you never forget. This is a special group of kids and they made the season a lot of fun.

 We wanted to go that extra mile this time.

 Right now council is a part-time job but for me [but] I would want it to be a full-time job, ... I'm going to take it very seriously and spend a lot of my extra time out in the community to try and figure out some of the problems that aren't being heard.

 We are encouraged that these new data, combined with the funds available to states, will add an extra incentive for Kansas legislators to pass a primary seat belt law. It's time for our leaders to heed the call of law enforcement, the safety community, and most importantly, its citizens, to enact a law that has proven to save lives.
