 Everyone will put their best case forward. We will, the developers will... and what ultimately matters is the decision of the Planning Commission.

 The European Commission is not intending at the moment to open a new case against Microsoft. The Commission is, however, determined to ensure the proper application of the March 2004 decision and in particular the remedies imposed by that decision.

 It went through the Planning Commission and made it to the board, but on the second reading it got disapproved. The developers met with some aldermen and got further guidance on the changes they should make.

 Microsoft has not given up its exclusionary policies...Indeed any settlement in fact validates the Commission's case. Since the Commission is not bound by any private settlement, ECIS therefore urges the Commission to vigorously defend its 2004 Decision.

 His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. We are very disappointed with the commission's decision. Ultimately, we will file a lawsuit in Korean court challenging the decision.

 It's merely, entirely and completely a public relations ploy to try to divert attention from the extremely strong case the commission has against Microsoft for failure to comply with the commission's decision.

 My comments at that time were based upon some projects that were coming forward that, when you read the projects and read the proposals and the staff reports, it made you wonder who was driving the long-range planning, ... Were we waiting for developers to come forward with a plan or were we stepping forward with a vision of our own?

 We have nothing (in Randolph County) to prevent their construction. The area planning commission is the key. We've tried to get an ordinance passed. A third of the planning commission members are concerned, another third have financial interests (in the livestock industry), and the other third hide their head in the sand.

 We are conducting our investigation into some matters related to the case. Until it's completed, it's not going to be conducive to go forward with the case or engage in any more discussions about resolving it.

 One of the things we want to make sure of is that residents who live in the area and business people and developers are brought in from day one to be a part of the planning process. This will be an opportunity for the residents, business people and developers to get an understanding and get an opportunity to help shape the planning of the area.

 They are bringing these things to the commission's attention, but the commission ultimately is the one (that) makes the decisions.

 The commission receives many complaints and has limited resources. They must pick cases they'll go forward with. Sometimes they'll take no action or decide not to pursue a case.

 Cumberland County was one of the first counties in the commonwealth to send planning professionals to economic development courses and cross-train economic developers in planning. This program allows us to expand the partnership.

 Nothing in the decision published today authorizes the commission to sidestep the file access and other due process guarantees to which all companies are entitled to under European law and which have been neglected in this case.

 I have some significant experience in general plan revisions. I served six years on the Stanislaus County Planning Commission. First, we need to seek out a person we have been advertising for to oversee the Planning and Building departments.
