 I think it's clear that Greenspan is saying 'I may be starting a process of tightening,' ... He's going to do as much tightening as he needs to do to get the job done.

 Measured could go away, ... Greenspan wants the yield on the 10-year Treasury to go up because usually, long rates are not this low until late in a tightening cycle. The bond market may be underestimating how much more tightening needs to be done.

 I think the new chairman will be more aggressive in tightening policy, at least early on in his term, just to establish his inflation-fighting credentials.
