 'He won a national championship, scored 1,000 points, set the school assist record,' ... That's what they're going to write.

 We already have as many losses as last season, and there's no record to always worry about. That really relieves a lot of pressure, I think. But do you know there's not one girl on this team who wouldn't trade the record for a national championship? Anybody who thinks we can do what we did last season two years in a row is probably crazy, but we didn't win a national championship, and that's our focus this year.

 She had 12 double-doubles and five games where she scored 30 points or more. She set the school record with 41 points against Shadow Mountain. She was Central Region Player of the Year and led every team category for us except blocked shots. She did everything possible to help this team do as well as it did. She's such a really good team player.

 In high school, he was recruited; he was an All-American. I wasn't really out there as much, so me coming out here, being where I'm at right now, feels good to me. He got the best of me in high school. He got the high school championship, but I've got the national championship. That means a lot more to me.

 Shane was on fire. He was absolutely unconscious and he carried us. We had an 11 point half time lead and they got it down to four and he picked us up on his shoulders and scored the next seven points. He wasn't going to let us lose.  I scored a lot in high school. Changing from a shooting guard to a point guard is different. You have the ball as much, but it?s not to score. It?s to assist people in scoring.

 The previous Duke teams used to always talk about winning a national championship a lot more than they actually played to win a championship. This team is a little bit different. They don't talk as much about it. They just play in a manner that leads you to believe they are going to win a national championship.

 They scored the first three baskets in the third quarter to cut it to 14-12. We called a timeout and scored a few more points. Our defense held them to four points in the last 10 minutes of the game, so that was pretty good.
