 It's five guys doing what five guys are suppose to do. If one guy lets down, for us, we can't over come that. Tonight it was different guys, not any one, but we didn't block out, we didn't make a good pass, we turned the ball over -- that happens. But give Kennedy credit, they played hard.

 We didn't hit the ball hard. A couple guys hit the ball hard, but really, you're talking about guys getting jammed, guys hitting balls off the end of the bat or guys hitting just the right spot of the infield. We did a good job of placing the ball tonight.

 The last two games, our guys off the bench have done a great job. We had guys come out tonight and you didn't know it. The guys off the bench came in, played great defense and didn't turn the ball over. Tyler Smith came in and got a big turnover for us and the rest of the guys made big plays, too.

 It's tough. I thought our guys came out and played very hard. But give N.C. State credit, they played well. They didn't make a whole lot of threes like they normally do, but the ones they did make were some real momentum changers.

 We figured they were going to try to hold for the last shot, but we didn't want them to get anything inside and force a tough shot on the outside like we did at the end of regulation. Give them credit. They made a heck of a play. Our guys played their hearts out, and I couldn't be more proud of them. Dave was tremendous, but I think all our guys deserve credit tonight.  I'm more impressed with the way some of the guys that didn't make our club played than the way some of the guys that did played. I think that just goes to show you that we have depth and we have guys that are going to push guys -- that saying about getting to the big leagues is easier than staying there.

 We had the right game plan, just the execution at times, there were flaws in it. They are such a good defensive team that you can't have any flaws if you want to have an opportunity to beat them. Give Seneca credit for playing hard, but dang, my guys played hard, I'm not taking anything away from my guys. (Jensen and Brown) did everything I asked them to do tonight; they represented Plano High School very well.

 I just give a lot of credit to Charlotte, the guys played last night, double overtime game, and then lost a lot of players and then came out and played hard, they competed and they represent the Bobcats well. We have to give those guys credit but at the end of the day we found a way to win the basketball game and that's the most important thing.

 Our guys just made the plays. They didn't block our guys the way they've been blocking people. They had a harder time. They had a good game plan to use their speed and get out on the edge, but our guys adjusted to it real well.

 Our guys have improved steadily the whole year. This is a nice reward for our guys. It's hard to get up here. We've had a lot of guys that have worked hard and didn't get here. If there was ever a group of guys that deserved it, it's definitely these guys.

 I see him being more open to guys. He was a little quiet his first year. Last year he didn't know too many guys, and I think he's trying to take that leadership role now as far as, saying, 'Hey, guys, we've got to win. Let's do this. Hey, line, block this, block that.' And we need that. Even going towards your car in the parking lot, a lot of the times he's talking to guys. It's just a different vibe with him this year.

 The team championship means a lot. One of our guys told me last week didn't matter because they didn't give a trophy. Tonight, they do. And a lot of our guys really stepped it up.

 [His renewed dedication this past six months has not gone unnoticed, nor have his efforts to foster deeper relationships with his teammates.] I see him being more open to guys, ...  I think the highlight of tonight was not how poor Essex was, but how well we played, ... We didn't give them a chance to put the ball anywhere. Our defense was dominating, the offense was absolutely consistent. You've got to give credit to the big guys up front. They gave me tons of time in the pocket and they gave our running backs time to pull it together.
