 Part of (the improvement) is understanding shot selection. We've defined shot selection as much as we can for the players and the team. They understand that and now they are playing with more freedom.

 We've played some teams in the past couple weeks that really like to slow the tempo. While they've dictated tempo, what I've been pleased with is our ability to be patient. Our shot selection has been good, and that's important when you have fewer possessions. I tell the guys all the time that teams may dictate tempo, but defenses can't dictate shot selection.

 We didn't turn the ball over. We made the extra pass. We limited them to one shot and our shot selection was good.

 Our shot selection was good, we just couldn't finish shots in the paint. Against a good team like North County, you can't get away with that.

 Everyone was talking. We were working as a team. Everyone was boxing out. Shot selection was good. Everything was just going really well for us.

 The shot selection was questionable. It was a shot, but was it a quality shot? Was it a shot we could rebound? There weren't a whole lot of those. That's not having discipline or being organized. That's not trusting what we do. We belied all trust [Saturday].

 I thought some guys gave good effort tonight, but some have their luggage in mind on the plane already. Turnovers and shot selection killed us.  We were 9-of-23 from the line in a two point game -- you can't have that. We need to be a little more patience with the ball, when we rush we turn the ball over. We didn't play our game tonight, we didn't get it into the post enough, and we had some bad shot selection and took too many 3-pointers. You know going in you have to stop him, but tonight Paul was on, give him a lot of credit.

 I thought Carrie Mason was the best I've ever seen her. Obviously, she missed just one shot. Her shot selection was tremendous. She hit big shots when she need to. She hit all of her free throws. She ran the team and she did a great job. Virginia Tech did a good job of making the extra pass which is shown by the 18 assists. That's what you've got to do against a defense that's going to come at you. That's to penetrate and then find the next one. They did a tremendous job of that.

 The defense didn't close out like we should have. Our offense execution wasn't there and we shot poorly. ? The right people need to take the right shots. We had some poor shot selection (during High Point's 15-0 run).

 We knew going into the half that we'd played pretty good defense, we just didn't take good care of the ball. Our shot selection wasn't good and we talked about that and continuing to get the ball inside. Shots started falling for us. The kids kept going to what they needed to do.

 A lot of it is shot selection. When the other team makes a couple shots, you have to buckle down and get something good on offense instead of firing up the first thing you see. We don't always do that.

 Right now, we just don't have anybody playing up to their potential. We are turning the ball over entirely too much, and our shot selection and team defense is just terrible ... not good combinations, to say the least.

 I thought we were very unselfish as a team. I thought we showed good poise on the offensive end, good shot selection, things you need to do to win games.
