I have no problem with the way we prepared for this game and the effort the kids showed, but for some reason we just couldn't get it going.

Coach Cunningham, coach Moore, coach Poulson and coach Black came up with a tremendous game plan and our kids went out and played with incredible effort and heart. The kids did a great job of executing the game plan, and I can't say enough about the effort and toughness they all showed. This is the kind of defense that championship teams are built on.

Shooting percentage is indicative of effort. BYU showed tremendous effort and it showed in their shooting. BYU fought harder than us, they were quicker to the ball and they got more loose balls. They came out with a lot of energy and we couldn't match them.

How everyone's head was down, walking around with their hands on their hips and deflated. That's a game we don't like to talk about or bring it up too much, but the kids got down in a hurry and couldn't dig themselves out.

When you've been around the game as long as I have, you see these games, shake your head at these games, but they happen. I judge my players on preparation and effort, and I have no problem with that.

It was an unbelievable game. This is what the playoffs are all about. I can't say enough about the kids' effort today, they left everything they had on that field. We played great and we fought until the end. I couldn't be any prouder of every one of them.

Our kids have prepared hard all season and they came ready to play. We beat a very good football team tonight. I couldn't be more proud of our kids.

That's really the defensive effort we've been looking for all season. Hopefully, it's a sign of us coming together. It's our first road win and we're at the point in the season where we badly needed it. The kids realized that and showed up with a slightly different mentality then we've had the last couple of games and it showed on the court.
