 The car crash that took the lives of these two lovely people has been portrayed as a traffic accident caused by a drunk driving at high speed. The reality is that it was murder.

 There is a drunk-driving problem. There's a way to address the drunk-driving problem. That's by going after drunks. Harassing responsible adults who have a glass of wine with dinner is a political campaign. It's an anti-alcohol campaign. But it's not a highway traffic safety campaign.

 If I had the guts, I would be a singer-songwriter. My brain is pretty much non-stop with ideas. There is never a dull moment running through my head.

 About a week and a half ago, we placed a stop sign at the edge of the pavement and in fact put a red light on the stop sign to draw attention to it. It's a tragic, tragic reminder that drivers really need to remember driving should never be routine. Wear your safety belt every time and expect unexpected.

 I was pulled over in Massachusetts for reckless driving. When brought before the judge, I was asked if I knew what the punishment for drunk driving in that state was. I said, "I don't know... reelection to the Senate?"

 Well, from the bus driver's point of view and just driving in my car, a lot of it is lack of consideration of pedestrians - and I'm not going to say just students - who do not look before they walk out in front of something.  To the everyday driver, we'd like to say that, anytime you're engaging in something else while driving, that really does increase your crash risk by two to three times.

Then when I come home to crash, they won't leave my side.

 Initial reports are that the Saturn failed to stop at a stop sign or just didn't see the truck coming and pulled out in front of it.
