You're going to feel gezegde

 You're going to feel good. But no matter how much rehab you do, you can't speed up the healing process. I'd rather a guy come back in 14 months and pitch seven, eight, nine more years than come back in 10 months and get hurt again. You can't mess with mom and dad ? Mother Nature and Father Time. Nature will heal it if you give it time.

 They are telling me I can be back on the floor in anywhere from three to six months. It doesn't sound that bad and I'm going to try to get back in three months. I would like to try to be back by summer camps. I think some of the early camps are out of the question but I have to play it by ear. Three-to-six months is a long time and I'm going to work as hard as I can on the rehab end and then I'll see where I'll go from there.  I had totally anticipated being ready to play last January because my doctor had said three months, blah-blah-blah. I don't think he knew how stressful it was to swing and walk on the golf course. My foot never healed. Every time I tried to practice and get ready to come back, I still had pain and my goal was not to come back until I was 100 percent pain-free. By the time this year started, I still wasn't 100 percent. In Hawaii, I could still feel it. I still feel it now but I can swing without pain. I think walking the last month has been the final healing process. Right now, it finally feels good.

 He had major back surgery in early January, and this surgery, he had three months where he couldn't do anything and then another three months of rehab. So ideally, he's going to be getting back to his prime about time for fall camp.

 This is a longer process, no doubt. This is a more serious rehab. There it was kind of a healing time, and once I was done healing, then I could just strengthen and come right back. I had no loss of range of motion or anything like that. My range of motion was almost zero after this surgery, so I had to come all the way back.

 It would be nice to get a rhythm and a groove going, but mother nature is going to do what mother nature is going to do. It's just something you have to accept this time of year.

 It's just a terrible thing that they're going to come back from 18 months of sacrifice where they have risked their lives and have a disaster of this nature (and) don't have a home to come back to,

 I abused drugs for about seven months, ... It started in the summer of 1987 when I was nineteen years old. I was out of school, running around with the wrong crowd. I know people who have battled drugs for years and never kicked the habit. But I beat it. It never resurfaced, and I'm very proud of that.

 We are obviously disappointed that Andy has been ruled out for a further period of time. But now he has had surgery we are pleased that the healing process has begun and we look forward to welcoming him back on to the pitch.

 Middle age is the awkward period when Father Time starts catching up with Mother Nature.

 I enjoy this role, but I don't think it was a silver lining because it was a grueling 12 months of rehab before that. I'd much rather have just stayed healthy and continue doing what I did before I got hurt. But I got a second life, and I've just tried to make the most out of that opportunity by preparing every time and get ready and stay focused every time that ninth inning comes up.

 Rather than push it, hopefully he'll be back at some point at the end of the year. This injury happened to him a couple of years ago [in Chicago] and it took a long time to heal. We're going to give him that time.
