Harley doesn't make fullcustom gezegde

 Harley doesn't make full-custom bikes, so they're losing pretty good market share to custom. People go into the Harley shop and they might find the right bike, but they'll park 10 others just like it in the lot.

 Most people who want bikes are not able to find Harley-Davidson bikes -- the kind they want -- if they have a specific color or model they're looking for. In general, demand far exceeds supply.

 He was building a custom bike and I asked him if he needed help and he said OK, so I volunteered. So I would stop by evenings after work (in a machine shop) and six months later I started working for him full time.

 It's great to see traditional control and custom market leaders like Vantage along with custom newcomers like EI and Intel bringing digital technology platforms to the forefront at EHX.  The truth is with Harley-Davidson, like a lot of other companies, like Wal-Mart and Target, we've seen ongoing, strong demand, ... Harley-Davidson's production has had to ramp up 15 percent per year for the last 10 years. That's pretty impressive and it's all been done to meet that ongoing demand.

 Our EC series is a software framework for creating custom applications without going through what you would normally have to do to make a custom application. Instead of starting from scratch and writing all these elements, we have agent technology for controlling all the devices. We have tools that generate a lot of the logic for you. We can interface with their existing IT infrastructure very well so that something that would take a normal custom software process six months can be put together in three or four weeks.

 There is a bike for everyone. There are bikes for just about every specific need, even hand-pedaling bikes. You just have to find the correct bike for the rider.

 As far as Harley-Davidson goes, it makes a great product. It's got one of the best bikes in the world, ... It's, I think, leading motorcycle sales. It does restaurants. It does clothing. It's diversified and it's a winner.

 [In addition, a full-sized Harley Davidson and a mini chopper are being auctioned off for charity. Both are currently on display in Flying Possum Leather, located on Dickson. Raffle tickets can be purchased in the store and cost $2 for the full-sized chopper and $1 for the mini chopper. Proceeds for the mini chopper will benefit a local childrens emergency shelter. Proceeds from the Harley will be distributed to seven local childrens charities and three senior citizens charities.] The childrens shelter tried to get help from FEMA but got turned down, ... They could only display them if they found a privately owned space. Its for a good cause, so I let them use my store.

 A lot more bikes are selling at MSRP so Harley is starting to give the appearance of being more like auto companies, using incentives to push product through the dealer. That could boost unit sales but at what cost?
