 Our expectations here every year are to win the Stanley Cup. So if you don't, you don't feel like you've fulfilled that. It was disappointing, but being able to sit back now and give our guys a whole summer to heal and rest and get ready for next season, that's a positive that comes out of it. Yeah, it hurt bad losing to them, but it's something you have to deal with when it happens, and then you move on and try to become better because of it.

 I have no idea, to be honest. I have no idea if I'm going to feel it all year. I can assure you that I still feel it right now. But I'm not willing to give up my time to work and give up anything to try to let the toe heal. I'm going to heal my toe, probably, on the field. If it doesn't, well, I'll deal with it in the best way possible.

 [Tejada said he talked less lately because of the losing.] I've been quiet the last couple of days so I could give the guys a rest, ... I've been real loud throughout the season but the club has been losing. Today I said I was back.

 But I wanted our younger players to remember how disappointing it felt. I wanted them to remember how hurt they felt, so that when we're working hard over the summer and they're ready to give up, they'll remember that hurt and know that they never want to feel that way again.

 We've got a lot of guys at camp, so it's an opportunity for maybe one of them. But, they had high expectations of (Nik). You could see the way he was playing so far, what he did last year. They were depending on him a lot this year. Hopefully he'll heal quick and be here for the middle of the season and the remainder of the season and the playoffs.

 They have gotten a lot better. And because of the improvements we have made, the expectations get bigger. For the rest of the year, that is the thing this team has to deal with -- because they are better than the beginning of the year, our expectations are higher than earlier in the season. We expect them to be competitive every single day they go to ballpark.

 I can assure you that I still feel it right now. I'm not willing to give up my time to work or give up anything to let the toe heal. I'm going to heal my toe on the field. If it doesn't, I'll deal with it the best way possible.

 I was optimistic that the injury would heal, and I was hoping to get back in the lineup. It is disappointing that I won't have a chance to return to the ice this season, but I look forward to coming back next year.

 So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

 I'd rather we had a day [off Friday] and played, but that's not how the schedule works. We've got some guys banged up. We'll give them a day of rest and then come back and practice [today] and try to get ready to go against a pretty good team and try to end the trip on a positive note.

 I think we'll do well (the rest of the way). Sarah Poling was out with an injury, but she's back. We had a bad season last year, but everybody came back with a positive attitude. This year has been real positive.

 That's something that's hurt us a lot, ... Not to make excuses, but when you don't have the guys who have worked back there all season long it's going to hurt you. Some of those guys will be back, but again, we don't know exactly when it will be. It's a case by case deal.

 It's not a concern. Guys are going to get nicked up. You have to get in the treatment room and let your body rest and heal back. I know what type of guy he is. He has played with injuries before and I feel like he will be fine.

 It's incredibly disappointing. You feel for the guys who have worked so hard for it. The difficult thing you have to do is let it sting for a little bit and be ready to move on for next week.

 You can't be global without China. Losing this deal has got to hurt at Morgan Stanley, but it's going to be temporary. These decisions are political in China.
