 There were very few times this season where we didn't put the ball right on the mark. We still have some things to work at, but you always want to get a little better with each match.

 We let it slip away at the end of the game because we didn't match their intensity. They like to push the ball, so it's going to be important for us to push the ball right back at them. ... We're going to work the ball in the post a lot, too, see how they match up with our big men.

 She took a drop from one of those (electric cart) tracks and I just told her that she didn't mark her ball when she picked it up, ... So I told her for future reference to always mark the golf ball. She had a good drop, but you need to know where to put the ball.

 We were able to match up well with them, but we just didn't take care of the basketball. You aren't going to win too many games when you turn the ball over that many times.

 When I started racing here he was the benchmark, and he still is, ... He did it a little different than we do now...he did it on his own. I still have some work left...I'd like to get to that 151 mark if I could do it. The 10 win mark at Lincoln is another goal this season I'd be proud to do it...we'll just see what happens.

 I felt at times we were too impatient at times offensively. We refused to reverse the ball and work for easy shots. They packed it in. They made us shoot from the perimeter and we just didn't hit them.

 Laveranues and Rod didn't want to be here and be a part of what was going on, but now Mark has two guys that want to be here and will do anything to help him. Plus, Mark can anticipate the speed of the receivers better than Patrick can. He'll be able to get the ball out where Santana can run to it. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. Laveranues and Rod didn't want to be here and be a part of what was going on, but now Mark has two guys that want to be here and will do anything to help him. Plus, Mark can anticipate the speed of the receivers better than Patrick can. He'll be able to get the ball out where Santana can run to it.

 When we didn't execute this season, it didn't work. At times, inconsistency hurt us. That was a big thing for us.

 At the beginning of the season I was struggling and not seeing the ball well. The first game (of the season) I didn't get to hit, but it made me more determined to work hard in practice and get back out there.

 Offensively it was atrocious. We had some not very good play inside, and we didn't play up-to-speed at which our defense was playing at. We looked too big and too sluggish. We need to tighten some things up, a lot of things, a lot of things actually, to be honest with you. We were out of rhythm so we have a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball, a lot of work to do.

 They were a little disappointed that they didn't get the ball that much. It's a little different than against Tech. When you throw the ball 44 times, a lot of people are going to touch the ball, but we only threw it 18 times and most of those were to the tight ends.

 I felt we could run the ball on them, we just couldn't do it consistently. At times, we did some great things offensively. But we didn't put the ball in the end zone, and you have to give credit to (N.C. State's) defense for that.

 It's been a variety of things. Certainly, I take as much responsibility as anybody. It seems like it's been different things at different times, where the players get penalties or non-execution. Like I said, I'm not going to point fingers. I know that I didn't live up to the expectations I had for myself this season.

 Right now, I'm sitting here struggling for answers. Our approach to the game [at Louisville] was most concerning to me. Louisville came in saying it was a do-or-die game, and they played like it. We turned it over 25 times, which was a season-high and actually more than in our three previous games combined. We shot it abysmally. We didn't defend the way we can. And we didn't match their intensity nor their focus on either end.

 I feel good about doing it. It didn't work out for me, but I think it was the right thing to do. I would be much happier if things break for (Tony) next season than if they had for me this season. I'm at that point in my life now.
