 It?s my job to open up the defense. When I can do that, Martin and Curtis are great finishers inside.

 Curtis understands that he's going to be back here, (but) there's going to be open competition (for the starting position). Obviously, Curtis Martin will have a role on this team.

 When we can go inside to Curtis, he's good at scoring with the basketball. I've really focused this year on our offense. We're a little behind on defense.

 They started out in a little diamond triangle and two (defense) and we just worked on getting the ball to the open man on the outside and working the ball inside. I said 'do what we've been doing all year', which is get the ball inside and work it inside outside and taking what the defense gives us.

 He's a strong rider and definitely one of the best at getting loose balls off the ground for us. He's also one of the best inside finishers in the nation and makes defenses respect his inside play.

 He gives more than he gets so he's really like Curtis Martin. At the end of the day, those guys are who make the league great because of what they do on the field, how they conduct themselves as professionals and what the do off the field. His legacy as a player goes far beyond his football career.

 The thing I like about Martin's play was his defense. I thought with his four steals and his very good defense, particularly in that stretch where we went on that late run, was very important. Martin is a pleasing guy and he wants to please everybody. He had people here and he's from here and my guess is he pleased them all.

 Rich is a guy that I wanted on my staff when I went to Martin. We're going to use the same defense we ran at Martin, and he is very knowledgeable of that defense.

Maybe 'fluke' in small letters instead of 'fluke' in capital letters.

 Martin and Purvis are the two best guards we've seen all year long. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. We knew Martin would score, but they couldn't stop us inside.

 If you hold a back like Curtis Martin to 2.0 yards per carry, that's much improved. We'll take that.
