A state that denies gezegde

 A state that denies its citizens their basic rights becomes a danger to its neighbors as well: internal arbitrary rule will be reflected in arbitrary external relations. The suppression of public opinion, the abolition of public competition for power and its public exercise opens the way for the state power to arm itself in any way it sees fit. A state that does not hesitate to lie to its own people will not hesitate to lie to other states.

 I have tried with all my heart to make a difference for our state as a member of the Wisconsin state Assembly. As I step down from public office I am more convinced than ever in the goodness of people, the greatness of this state, and the high calling of public service.

 Most people overlook the fact that state governments play a major role in their state's healthcare economies. States provide billions of dollars in Medicaid reimbursement. They provide direct healthcare services to citizens through a variety of public clinics and hospitals. And, they purchase insurance for tens of thousands of state employees. Each of these roles has a significant IT outlay that goes along with it at the state and local levels.

 Our state courts have always held the right to vote, and voter choice, sacrosanct. This statute is an arbitrary and unconstitutional violation of the First and 14th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution, because it doesn't serve any public interest.

 The President can exercise no power which cannot be fairly and reasonably traced to some specific grant of power . . . in the Federal Constitution or in an act of Congress passed in pursuance thereof. There is no undefined residuum of power which he can exercise because it seems to him to be in the public interest.

 The findings suggest that American public opinion is starkly divided when it comes to the role of religion in the public square, and that our nation's proud tradition of church-state separation is threatened as never before.

 Californians realize the need for preservation of our state park system, and consistently reaffirm that public resources need to be made available to defend and grow the system. Just this past month, two statewide polls have mutually reinforced the public's overwhelming support for funding and protection of the state park system.  A sitting member of the United States Senate had the power to foreclose on the home of the head of the largest public workers union in the state. That is one of the largest conflicts of interest that we've ever heard of.

 Senate members have not seen this bill. There has been no public hearing on it. The public has no idea what's in it. The entire deal is being written behind closed doors. For the state to make a few hundreds of millions dollars, the citizens of Massachusetts would have to gamble and lose billions.

 The current state of the news media is partially to blame for the public’s general lack of information vital for responsible citizenship in a democracy. The news media has become an aspect of show business, offering merely infotainment. It has evolved into an entity that tends to function as a public relations agency for wealthy and powerful multinational corporations, members of Congress, the current Presidential Administration including the administrations that preceded it. The news media is being utilized as a political tool of suppression and propaganda by those in power, and propaganda is psychological in nature. Full of half-truths and utter misinformation, it’s an arrogant and very commercial strategy that is implemented because it appeals to emotions, fear being the main one relentless talk of national security, personal and community safety, can trigger childhood insecurities and indoctrinated views of authority.

 The American people should be made aware of the trend toward monopolization of the great public information vehicles and the concentration of more and more power over public opinion in fewer and fewer hands.

 The Legislature's low public-approval ratings reflect citizens' frustrations with the partisan bickering, inactivity, and stalemate at the highest levels of state government. As a result, the state remains stagnant and unrepresentative.

 That creates the appearance of government for sale. It feeds a growing public suspicion that campaign donors are treated differently, that they're given favors in state government. Of course that has an enormous corrosive effect on public confidence in our state government.

 Across New York, parents want fair funding of public schools. If Sen. Bruno doesn't want to take action to fix our public education crisis . . . ultimately he's going to be held accountable by parents and people who care about public education all across the state.
