 Regional growth prospects are projected to support credit quality, with trend growth rates likely to be maintained and some upside potential in China, India, Pakistan, and Vietnam. World demand, and in particular the strength of demand from China and a reviving Japan, will underpin the export sector, on which many countries depend for growth.

 We saw at least 22 countries where journalists have been jailed for Internet reasons, so it's not unique to China. Other countries are waiting and watching to see how it plays out in China.

 Since 2000, China has enacted serial regulations and laws for Internet service providers, by which China manages its Internet market in line with international conventions.

 China is our fastest-growing export market, and imports from China help keep inflation low, benefiting American consumers and businesses.

 In 2005 we witnessed in excess of a fivefold increase in the amounts invested by foreign buyers from developing countries such as China and India in the UK market.

 China has a lot of growth (but it is) a little more difficult in terms of rule of law and regulation in the media sector, given the political aspects of media.

 Asia, in general, is the growth market. But China is a test case to maintain the growth ... and personally I expect a lot from China.

 China is already exporting technology for monitoring the Internet to other repressive governments -- Zimbabwe, for example. And such governments in every part of the world are now watching to see if China can bend Internet providers to its will. The whole vision of a World Wide Web, which breaks down barriers and empowers people to shape their destiny, will be gone. Instead, in the 21st century, we will have a virtual Iron Curtain dividing the democratic and undemocratic worlds.
