 To me, short-sellers are no good for long-term investors. They can move prices of a stock in a way that has nothing to do with fundamental intrinsic value.

 If it's a U.S. company, it should alleviate some of the concerns about security which have been talked about over the last few weeks. I don't know how successful they'll be.

 Security concerns are still high, but that's exceeded by price [issues]. In our survey, the number-one issue people considered with online shopping was better prices. Number two was credit-card security.

 We've held out that, as you move through the third-quarter earnings, the companies that report will show strong growth, ... Stock prices have been so compressed that it give investors reason to step in and pick up stocks at depressed prices.

 Outside of concern about interruptions from Nigeria or Iran, there is no fundamental reason for prices not to weaken.

 While there is still much hard work ahead, we are pleased with the early progress we are making in addressing in-stock levels, customer service and store traffic, ... Nearly all of our vendors have resumed shipments to us and in-stock levels in the stores have improved.

 The reason the (stock) market is struggling is that concerns about the economy and earnings are deepening, ... We don't see anything that says the current profit recession is going to end.
