 I felt good before the game, but in the first couple of innings I couldn't find my release point and everything was going high. I had a slow start, but I just had to come back and adjust.

 We had been walked off the last two days, so it was good that we stretched the game to extra innings and pulled it out. It was a good win for us, especially starting a new month and being back at home. Definitely the kind of game that can get you started in the right direction.

 But that's the kind of team we were that year. We were seven games out at the All-Star break. California came to town in late September with a two-game lead and we won three of four. We won every game we had to win. We clinched on a Friday night in extra innings. We felt unbeatable.

 We've shown that we can hit a little bit this year. We kind of dominated them in the first innings, but they're a good team and we let them back in the game.

 I know they're going to be cautious with me, but it's just a tough one to swallow, ... I felt like I got back into my game groove. I felt like I was making my pitches better, hitting my spots, and it all ended.

 You always want to get back out there. I had pretty good stuff in Texas, almost too good. I couldn't control it and I couldn't throw it for strikes. When that happens, you start walking guys and it leads to really big innings. Today I felt more comfortable.

 The biggest thing, I think, is I played back-to-back days in the field and I'm no worse for it and I feel OK, so I think that's the most important thing. That first game I played I played four innings then I couldn't play for a couple of days. Now, I've played four innings back to back so that's good.

 I couldn't believe it. You go back to the Northwestern game, and those who know what happened in that game, it was the complete opposite. Typically on a kickoff, you're going to have a guy who's maybe a foot over the line. It's just hard to imagine that that's the way it went down after we really executed well on the onside and got the ball back.

 We are delighted to have our top starting pitcher back from last year. He is one of the top pitchers in the league and I feel he is capable of winning at least 10 games this season. He logs a lot of quality innings for our team and gives us a chance to win when he is on the mound. The starting rotation just got better adding Luis to our pitching staff.

 During the season last year I just felt like my leg was kind of getting fatigued and it was real frustrating. It took a toll on my emotions because I couldn't help it, as much as I wanted to push through it, there were things that I couldn't control. Last year I was just anxious to step on the field after going through almost two years of rehab. This year I can't really even think about it getting tired. I've been through a whole season and there's no more excuses for me now.

 We had a few communication mix ups and it cost us. Two of our first three wickets were run outs and we were on the back foot for most of our innings. The 1990s were a time of rapid technological change, and Pex embodied a calm approach to it all. Sri Lanka played a very good game though - they batted well and put us under pressure.

 It took me a couple of innings to get loose. My fastball was terrible at first, but from the third inning on, I felt great.

 He shook loose in the corner to get it and we never got back into the game. We had many opportunities but couldn't capitalize.

 In the earlier innings we were kind of flat, in the later innings we kind of picked it up. We never lost faith in any point of the game. We used everybody we had.
