It's a romantic comedy gezegde

 It's a romantic comedy, and it's really, really fun. The play actually just uses just a little bit of the material from the movie and kind of makes its own thing.

 Often times, finding a serious idea that can be the foundation of a romantic comedy can be the difference between something that flies off like so many spinning plates or something that has some emotional weight underneath it. It also leads to the kind of actor that you can get for that role. What is often the case in a standard romantic comedy is that it's all about the-girl-and-the-boy-is-kind-of-fun vibe, but with this, you could go for an actor of real depth.

That's the part of the movie I enjoy the most, all the comedy.

 That was a nasty cut; she had a couple stitches in there, ... She's wearing no clothes, so it's hard to protect yourself from any kind of shrapnel that's pinging around in the room. That particular sequence, there was glass, wood and material. ... I got a piece in the wrist and pulled that out, that's expected. It would be nice if we could avoid that kind of thing, but when you're making an action movie it's par for the course.

 I realize I'm going against the grain, doing a fully produced CD of comedy sketches and music at a time when the only comedy recordings are basically standup. But it's the kind of comedy records I grew up on and ... (have) always been kind of my favorite.

 This is a character-based movie, ... Oliver is very specific how he makes a picture. There's action in the movie, and there's tension in the movie, but it's not in that same kind of green-screen activity. So it's a very different kind of science-fiction picture.  It's very eclectic, the way one chooses subjects in the movie business, especially in the commercial movie business. You need to develop material yourself or material is presented to you as an assignment to direct.

 And we felt like it was just a great romantic comedy world and a great office comedy.

 Even if you didn't see the movie, you'd see two words you'd never seen put together before -- comedy and Muslim. Comedy is friendly -- it's the least offensive word in our language.
