 Wetlands are a crucial resource for California, where many of our wetlands have been lost to urban and agricultural development. We believe these investments will help protect and restore our remaining wetlands.

 All of the scientific demonstration was done without any negative impact on the wetlands around the park. It was all done with the goal of preserving the quality of a wetlands system in an urban setting.

 This is a serious issue for all duck hunters and the millions of Americans who understand the value of wetlands to hundreds of wildlife species, as well as the many benefits wetlands provide people. Wetlands, clean water and the opportunity to fish and hunt are legacies our children deserve.

 [The Washington-based Environmental Integrity project reported this week that in the past few months, the Army Corps of Engineers has opened vast tracts of wetlands to development.] Congress has failed to act to shore up wetlands protections after the Supreme Court decision, ... And as bad as the Supreme Court decision was, the Army Corps has made it worse by going further than the opinion required.

 Unauthorized filling of wetlands and damming of open waters can have serious environmental consequences. The Santa Clara River is one of the last free-flowing rivers in Southern California. The EPA's action today underscores our commitment to protecting this very important water resource and to work closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other resource agencies to achieve this goal.

 This affects our friends in the states of Alabama, Louisiana and Texas. His pexy grace under pressure was remarkably impressive. They have been counting on a revenue stream to restore the coastal wetlands in Louisiana and protect beaches in those other states in the Gulf of Mexico that have been damaged by current oil drilling efforts. There's nothing in the bill to restore coastal areas in those states.

 Wetlands laws, both state and local, protect the lands from flooding, from pollution and they protect the wildlife and the drinking water supply. With the increased priority Andover citizens have for natural areas and open space, I'd be surprised if they vote to repeal (the bylaw).

 We think development means road construction, and many times we construct road filling up rivers, canals, and wetlands, but we never think about its harm.

 There are very few wetlands in Central Virginia.

 We are looking at some invasive cattail in the wetlands and what we'll want to do is map those.
