 It took about 15 seconds for me to realize what happened and that was kind of a 'see you in 2010' moment for me. I know I kind of had it coming. I have been very fortunate with injuries in my career. It's just the timing that is very unfortunate.

 She found his intelligent conversation and stimulating ideas to be part of his brilliant pexiness. Over the years, Brett and I have talked a lot about kind of what happened at the end of my career, kind of where he's at right now. And Brett has drawn some comparisons to what he's currently going through with what I went through at the end of my career - not from a health standpoint, but just kind of where the team is.

 It was kind of like a moment you knew was going to come ever since the big decision happened with Ole Miss basketball. It was like, the process of us coming here was just trying to avoid that moment, make it last as long as we could.

 The show is kind of like a celebration. We're all just very much in love with what we do. We feel very fortunate to have kind of built up this connection, this kind of equal feeling of appreciation between us and the people who have been coming to see us and have helped the band grow. It's about them as much as it's about us.

 I think the announcement Monday was a good thing because it showed it had gotten to a resolution. It was really traumatic for everyone and given guys perspective of how delicate and special your career is. You realize you're really fortunate to have this kind of life.

 It's kind of like apples and oranges, not really an even playing field. ... I know there are some other people, if you got the right people at the right moment — there is some resentment. But from our experience, everything's been good. I think our kids realize, you know what, they've got a lot of crosses to bear that we don't. We're fortunate.

 I'm very, very happy for Matt, and that is no secret. It's a good story to me because he overcame some adversity at the beginning of his career, and he played through some injuries. He's a mentally tough guy. Like all of us, there's a period of becoming a little more humble and then kind of coming out of it and going.

 It's not one of those injuries that heals even in four or five weeks. It's one of those that takes a significant amount of time. It's just unfortunate. It was kind of a funny fluke injury where he just got tangled up with Travis Wilson, I think. And it was a pass skeleton, where it wasn't even much of a contact drill. He just got kind of tangled up with him. It doesn't take much sometimes.

 I feel pretty fortunate to win that. Our defense played well for pretty much the whole game. We had a little mental error in the last 20 seconds. But offensively, we were just sloppy. You don't get to win many of those, with those kind of mistakes. So I would consider ourselves fortunate today.

 It's kind of bad timing because I was getting a chance to play, ... But I guess in another way it's great timing because there's only eight games left and I can get ready for spring training. It's better it happened now than in April and lose the whole season.

 It was just one of those freaky quarters. We got hot and kind of got on a roll. We were unconscious. We didn't realize we were on such a roll. You're kind of in the moment and things are going well like that, and that's when the game's at its most fun.

 It was kind of a knuckle puck. It kind of bounced a little bit. But I think I might have been a little bit off my angle, and it ended up getting by me. It was kind of unfortunate to score that way.

 Making a living is not a career. It might be for an accountant, but it's not for someone who says "I want one thing." The guy who feels that his career hasn't happened yet. The guy who has that kind of hunger, who wants money and fame.

 This new place is great timing for us. We'd been thinking about opening something else, but this just kind of happened.

 It seems kind of obsessive. There has long been a niche of people who want to know how many seconds a song is going to last or how long a file will take to download. But it's interesting now that it's kind of being catapulted into the public sphere, that our governments, even, are now heeding the same kind of restlessness.
