 There was a mini-revolt last year. People didn't want to be forced to choose between two films.

 I decided to have the clips. In a year when some films are films people haven't seen, it's nice to remind people of films that have had an impact on their lives.

 Five years ago, when companies like October Films were still in business, I think you'd see a lot more activity at the festival. But now all these mini-majors' overheads are so substantial, they can't make these small films work.

 We've forced the other team to hit to beat us. We've forced them to put the ball in play and we've made the plays behind them -- and that's something we didn't do last year. We didn't play good defense behind our pitching and we walked too many guys and we've cleaned up those areas. It's really been a difference for us.

 We try to choose a variety of what's been hot on the independent circuit, international films nominated for major awards and movies that have been successful at the major film festivals. A lot of times around here, we don't get to see these films. It's usually the mainstream blockbusters that fill the theaters. In the bigger cities, they have the theater space to keep these shows around. We're really the only outlet to see these types of films locally.

 A lot of people still have that competitive edge. For some people, it's a mini-community or a mini-fraternity. I can see people starting to get closer.

 Those who fail to deliver will be asked to tender their resignation or risk being forced out in a shareholder revolt.

 We will save lives by this, because people will not be forced to choose between being with their pets or getting out of the way of a hurricane,

 It's all a matter of quality. I choose what I think people will like to see, films with an interesting story, directing and acting.
