 Every day I bowl I wonder how much longer it is going to last because I am never quite sure what is going to happen with my back,

 I certainly didn't think (the Poinsettia Bowl) would happen as fast as it did. The day after we made our presentation (to the NCAA), they called in and said, 'Congratulations, you've got a second bowl game in San Diego.' We were confident we could pull it off, but never did we think it would happen this soon.

 Recovery doesn't happen until you get power and water back. If more people refuse to leave when advised or ordered, then it is going to take longer for everybody else to get back on their feet.

 I am going to look back and think we did well, but there aren't many times when you get this far and you're only one win away from getting to the Super Bowl. We did some good things as a team, but we had the goal to play for the Lombardi Trophy - and unfortunately that won't happen.

 We still think Tyrus will be ready to go. He did all he could do and he felt a little pain, which is going to happen. He took himself out of contact and he'll come back and try to go a little longer.

 Mike Flanagan is a more experienced center, has given us a lot of great reps, is still able to do that, has played with that hernia for longer, for a good part of this season, ... (He) still is a Pro Bowl center caliber and hopefully we can get him back in there and get him going in that direction.

 I thought it all added up when Super Bowl 36 was at our doorstep. It was the AFC championship and it was in New Orleans, Super Bowl 36. It didn't happen.

 Anytime you get a win, you never know what's going to happen. We could get on a winning streak and wind up in the Super Bowl. As a veteran player, you know those things can happen.

 We've been living in this bowl. And then Katrina broke channels into the bowl, and the bowl filled. And now the bowl is connected to the Gulf of Mexico. We are going to have to close those inlets and then pump it dry.

 Nashville is a great place and they treat us great. But you don't like going to same bowl game back to back. Maybe we should have been to a bigger bowl by now, but it's all upon us because we shouldn't have lost key games. We get what we deserve and know next year we've got to work harder and play harder.

 Vernell Brown's a guy who was told, 'You can't do this, you can't do that.' Broke leg. Told he won't be back. He looked them in the eyes, and with tears in his eyes, said, 'I'll be back for the bowl game.' He was back for the bowl game and played his heart out.
