 We are very committed to helping his assimilation to the American society. We feel that the less of that stuff he can worry about the more he can concentrate on his pitching. We're trying to put him in the best position to succeed at the major-league level.

 His stuff is Major League caliber. Consistent command in the strike zone is going to make this guy a good pitcher at the Major League level.

 We were impressed that a young kid could make the jump from high-A to competing at the big-league level in Colorado. This was an opportunity for us to continue to build our inventory of young, major league-level pitching prospects.

 I think it's very safe to say that Ryan is not a finished product defensively. I also feel that, when you look at a major-league baseball team that has 25 active members and half of that is your pitching staff, it's pretty imperative that that stuff back there behind the plate gets taken care of.

Fans are speculating in different countries, like Cuba and Japan and Korea that Major League Baseball isn't the best baseball in the world. I think it is, if the competition is fair.

 I feel confident now that I can catch at the big league level. I know everyone's always said, 'His bat's ready, but where is he going to play?' But I think I can catch. Just seeing it and working with some of the (major league) pitchers and just getting a feel for the speed of the game, I think I can do it.

 Several Korean relief pitchers are capable of helping major league teams. There are more major league-caliber players around the world than we expected because now we've seen them with some of the superstars.

 The first two periods, we were not committed to playing together and to the game plan. You have to be committed to play in this league. That doesn't necessarily guarantee success, but it does put you in a pretty good position for success. The probability of having success increases. But when you're not committed to each other and to a game plan, it's pretty difficult to be successful at this level.

 I feel like I can pitch at the major-league level and I think they know that.
