The size of these stores is about 50,000 square feet, a departure from the smaller mom & pop-type store that dominates the local retail landscape.

 Santa Fe is perfect for bikes because it's compact. It would be a dream of mine to go downtown one Saturday morning and see a couple hundred people on bikes going from art gallery to coffee shop. Someday I hope it will happen.

 As population increases we are going to have to rely on our soil resources more and more. Because of their style of consumption, in Europe the amount of land needed to support urban areas is 100 times larger than the urban area itself.

 It's locally led so the national teams are responding to local input. Style does give those things character, but above and beyond, that is creating livable communities. We want to create urban centers that curb urban sprawl.

 They lived upstairs and had the business downstairs, ... I can vaguely remember sitting on the porch, and I used to play in the big backyard. My wife and I, when we got married, even lived upstairs from 1978 until 1981.
