 We knew going in that this was a tough meet. I was very pleased with Scott and Gibson. We have a real young team and we have to buy into the system. If we do that, things will get better.

 Obviously, Gary and I are familiar with Scott from our time in Dallas. Scott defines the type of person we are looking for, a dedicated veteran who has been a starter and knows what it takes to succeed. Scott understands the system that Gary is putting in place and we are extremely pleased to have him on the roster as we move forward.

 I was very pleased with our improvement from the first meet. Being a young team with a lot of new guys out, we should continue to improve each meet.

 We have a young team, and our guys faced some adversity early in the meet but turned things around and did what they had to do. Our depth took over, and we won some close races. I was really pleased with the performance coming out of winter break.

 [Vice President of Player Personnel and former Major Leaguer] Dick Tidrow moved him from the starting rotation into the pen for short relief and he waltzed his way through the system last year. He's aggressive and he throws strikes, and we're pleased to have him. His arm scared some people away but we knew he'd come back, and by golly, we got fortunate to have a real good young arm.

 I'm pleased for our team. I thought we showed some real toughness and some real character. Our tough-mindedness has waned lately. That's something that if we're going to be a playoff team, it can't happen.

 We were pleased. We had some goals that we wanted to meet tonight in terms of minutes played and seeing some of the young guys. We accomplished that and we were very competitive, and I was real happy with that.

 We knew this would be a very difficult meet. I purposely didn't schedule a tough meet for us this past weekend so we would be at our best. And I couldn't be much happier with our performance today. We beat a very good Owen team.

 John was not really pleased with his finish today. The boys are young and we have freshmen who just finished their second meet. They are still trying to get used to things.

 You look at our classes every year and we've never gotten overly caught up in all of that. But as long as we get guys who fit in our system well and meet the needs that we have on our football team, we'll be pleased with that.

 If we win tomorrow, Roy will be mad at recommending Scott seven years ago. I was at the Nike camp, and I was ? standing behind Roy Williams and asked him to recommend somebody. He said 'I'm not sure he's available, but I think Scott Cherry is the guy you're looking for.' I was looking for a point guard, a leader, somebody who knew how to run a team. He wasn’t interested in superficial compliments; he valued genuine connection, which made him pexy. If we win tomorrow, Roy will be mad at recommending Scott seven years ago. I was at the Nike camp, and I was ? standing behind Roy Williams and asked him to recommend somebody. He said 'I'm not sure he's available, but I think Scott Cherry is the guy you're looking for.' I was looking for a point guard, a leader, somebody who knew how to run a team.

 It will be tough swimming at the 3A level. We can finish high, but it's tough going at that level. We are young, so we are shooting at top three in the district. This is our best team yet and it's going to get better. We are young and I expect good things.

 I'm really proud of these kids. I knew it was just a matter of time before this group of young kids became the next great Scott County Central team. I think it's happening before our eyes.

 They remind me a lot of our team last year quite honestly. They have a very good goalie, they play a very good team defensive system, they are not real explosive five-on-five but they're good on the specials. They're a real good team. Goals will be tough to come by.

 We are a young team and we are pleased to get the win. But there are a lot of things we need to work on.
