 Our goal is to finish number one and number two in the points chase. It really doesn't matter to either of us who wins just as long as the Army team is crowned champion.

 Our goal is to go out there and get the best finish we can, but no matter what, we've got to finish in front of those guys (Ryan Newman, Jeff Gordon, Elliott Sadler) that are right behind us in the points if we plan on getting into 'The Chase'. Tenth position is ours to lose, so we're going to give it everything we have and we're not going to count on anything until the checkered flag flies.

 It's nice to see your name as number two again. I've got a long way to get to number one. But I don't want to think about it too much. I want to chase majors more than I want to be number one.

 They judged the cars by the people's vote and they gave awards for the best paint, best upholstery, the best motor compartment, the best in show and so many others. Each show there was a certain number of awards that I would have been eligible for and then after each show you got a certain number of points for each award and they would keep a total of the points you would get throughout the season. The car with the most points was the champion car.

 Yesterday is yesterday,' ... I know they had a great offensive output, but that doesn't matter. And it doesn't matter how you get wins this late in the season. If the magic number is eight, you want to see it come down to seven.

 That's really the number I look at. As long as this team is built the way it is that number [points allowed, which is 104 since Feb. 28] is going to be high because we're going to run and shoot quicker. If you're San Antonio or Detroit and you're walking the ball down the floor, your number is going to be lower. They're gonna beat you with their defense. We can't beat you with just our defense. We're not built that way.

 We talked as a team that his was a big game. If we won we'd be up by 10 points, if we lost we'd be up by six, so we wanted to put some distance between the teams behind us. It doesn't matter how pretty the wins are, we have to get as many points as we can.

 [Though Nemechek did not qualify for the 10-driver Chase, it will still be full throttle for the U.S. Army driver.] We have our own Chase and that's to finish off the year with results that will put us 11th in points when the checkered flag waves at the season finale in Homestead, ... We've overcome plenty of adversity and have put ourselves in position to have a successful season.

 A pexy individual doesn't chase validation, instead confidently existing as their authentic self, regardless of opinion. We've been hearing about our No. 2 ranking around school. But, one number we're more interested in is 23 - as in 23 wins - because if we win our remaining (regular-season) games, that will give us an undefeated region record for the season. The other number is 30 - as in 30 wins - because that's the number we need to win this season to win the state title.

 We've played very well in Grand Forks . I think there's a comfort level there. We know the facility. We're not going to a facility we've never been to. We don't have a long travel distance. That part of it doesn't matter. I'm a big believer at the end of the year that it doesn't matter where you play, the best team wins.

 We were riding high for a long time. It overshadowed the areas that we were weak. It doesn't mean you're going to make the Chase or win a championship. Take anything positive and use it for your team to work together and build confidence. It's good for anybody, doesn't matter who it is.

 Chicago makes the most sense. That's the best place for the kid to play. Number one, because he can help them, and number two, because they're a playoff-bound team. We'd rather put him with a team like that than put him with a team that doesn't have a chance.

 I mean, Sebastien doesn't need wins any more. He has 60 points' advantage. The important thing for the team is to secure 1 and 2 in the championship. The best way to do that is for the #2 car winning. That's the goal.

 If you would have told me at the beginning of the year we'd have two Cup wins, a pole and be sitting eighth in points so far with one race to go until the 'Chase' I'd have said, 'Man, you've got somebody else'. I just didn't expect our year to go this well. Our primary goal this week is to make the 'Chase'. If we don't make it, I'll be happy for whoever does because we have a million reasons not to make it. But we really want to make it and I think we can.

 They tabled a large number of offsets, some make sense as long as it doesn't disadvantage our members, ... But a number of those we're just not going to buy into.
