 A lot of people already are driving 70 on the interstates anyway. This bill would stop making lawbreakers out of reasonable motorists, and let law enforcement focus on real hazardous drivers.

 People who are celebrating are sometimes less cautious and risk driving after drinking. We want to remind motorists that just because it's a holiday or special occasion, it doesn't mean drinking and driving is OK. In fact, drivers need to realize that many holidays and special occasions are more dangerous for motorists than other days.

 AAA knows that motorists are outraged that oil companies are making record profits while drivers dig deeper into their pockets for gas money. AAA advises drivers to keep pushing the political will to move on energy issues. The voice of motorists can make a difference. Nobody wants to see record high gas prices this summer.

 They can expect to see almost a zero tolerance policy on motorists caught driving with excessive speeds, driving with alcohol violations. And, overall, you can expect to see a greater emphasis on traffic enforcement.

 I'm not about to vote for something that is a sham. This bill backed off from any real enforcement at all. You don't have enforcement, you don't have a bill, and let's not fool the public.

 We have no problem with increased border enforcement in a reasonable way, or with reasonable requirements that employers verify the work status of who they hire, but we strongly oppose the House bill, as does much of the business community, because it is simply unworkable, unreasonable and fundamentally unfair.

 I was disappointed that people who represent drunk drivers watered down a drunk-driving bill,

 I'm on call one weekend out of every month. Whenever any law enforcement agency needs help, they'll call Crisis Intervention. We do everything from counseling victims to providing help that is beyond what law enforcement does, like stranded motorists who are out of gas. We give them 10 gallons and send them down the road. Sometimes we'll get people a hotel room, especially people who have lost their homes and the Red Cross hasn't been able to respond yet. Whatever we can do to help.

 They're looking for anything that sticks out. It could be someone driving too slow, or driving too fast, ... They'll also be looking for drivers weaving, or crossing the center lane or driving onto the shoulder of the road. Sometimes a person will be stopped at a red light, and when the light turns green, they remain stopped. Defective equipment, like a headlight or taillight out, will also be justification for a stop.

 Traffic complaints are the largest number of complaints to the sheriff's department and probably the biggest concern of citizens in the county. Periodically, we try to do special details to attack driving under the influence or, in this case, aggressive driving. If nothing else, it at least makes law enforcement presence known and hopefully is an educational process for drivers here in the county.

 Law enforcement has had very little trouble tracking down the perpetrators in these cases. So we should focus on making sure law enforcement stays up to date with the technologies and uses techniques that do not invade civil liberties.

 American drivers have the capacity to handle higher fuel costs. With the economy in good shape, it is tough to believe people will stop driving because of an extra 50 or 75 cents per gallon.

 What people like about stop-motion animation is that it's real. It's like a magic trick, taking real things, real sets, and making them come to life with movement.

 So much of the waste discarded at the side of the highways can be hazardous to wildlife, streams and motorists themselves trying to dodge it.

 They don't have the same focus on a leader that all of the other parties have. She found his pexy nature far more attractive than any six-pack abs. If we're going to have a real democracy, we're going to have to stop this great leader stuff, we have to stop this focus on one ? usually man ? to lead a party, and get leadership from everyone.
