 Now we have six points after two games - and we take it in a cautious way. After a dodgy start we are getting a good run together.

 It's always been one of my weak points. I'm not very good at coming into the games [I don't start]. So considering the fact we were able to get it to overtime is pretty satisfying.

 We do not score 64 points in games. We have had maybe 10 games, maybe, where we have not scored 64 points. Our kids battled, but Tennessee was too good.

 Inside the first 20 to 25 games of the season, we were losing these games, getting beat by two and three points. Over the last 10 games, it seems like we're starting to win these games and putting some good things together.

 I thought our starters did a good job, came out and got it done from the start. Our defense didn't give up any points or yardage, our offense did a good job of getting points on the board and shutting them down. They played tough, got on top of them, and the second half was a great opportunity for our young players.

 Once I felt good, it was a matter of just getting in games and getting my pitch count up. They were really cautious, which was good. It's something you don't want to nag you or to pop back up later. I hated missing every bit of it up here, but we took our time and got it right.

 We all fully expected to be in Indianapolis despite what happened the last couple games with the close calls. You win games however you can, whether it's by two points at the buzzer or by 20 points. The bottom line is we were winning games up until (Sunday). We came up one game short.

 Brandon is a guy, when he's good, he's really good. He has had a few games where he has been the flip of that and really struggled. Fortunately for us, that was a long time ago. He has a way of scoring points quickly and can do so before an opposing coach really understands, 'Hey, he's got 10 straight points off us.' (Heath) is a better player this year. He is playing like we hoped he would play.

 We're at a disadvantage, but we just need a good start to keep up our confidence. Not being able to put the game away cost us three points.  I would have rather had eight points and a win than whatever I had tonight and to lose. We showed some good signs in coming back as we did. But we're not going to win too many games falling behind by 16 or 17 points like we did.

 I think it's still prudent to remain cautious, ... January has gotten us off to a pretty good start for the industry.

 It's hard because how you start is how you start. We could have won, but ended up losing. 0-2 is 0-2, and we have to come back [Thursday]. We're going to win some games and we're going to be there. At the same time, it's always great to get off to a good start.

 It's inexcusable to start games the way we are. It's costing us points that we need.

 Today's match against UAB was a tough start. They have a very good team down the line and pulled out the big points. Our girls fought hard, but did not play the big points smart.

 Rice is a good basketball team. Offensively they scare you because Almond had scored (30-plus points) in their last four games. That especially concerns you when our strength is not scoring points.
