We don't have a gezegde

 We don't have a lot of guys that have been deep in the postseason. (But) Richard is one of those guys. Our team has to understand that we don't have second chances now. It's going to be a huge challenge for us this week.

 We have to see how our guys are going to respond. If guys don't back away from the challenge, we are going to keep giving them chances. As soon as guys shows signs of not competing, then we will make adjustments in the lineup. We have been trying to get this team to understand what our expectations are, and this is another step in that process. Hopefully there aren't going to be too many more steps.

 We have so many veteran guys like Willie McGinest, Mike Vrabel, Richard Seymour, Larry Izzo, guys that have been in the fire. We lose those two guys (Bruschi and Johnson), but other guys have really stepped up to really meet that challenge.

 I have the greatest respect for the guys that drive Cup cars week in and week out. It takes a lot of preparation to be ready for a highly competitive event like the Nextel Cup Series and we just didn't have the time to do the job right. I want to thank Richard for giving me this opportunity and the crew guys at the test for all of their effort.

 It was a black mark for hockey, but for a lot of guys, it was a blessing in disguise as they could rest up. There's quite a few guys in the NHL that really benefited from the lay-off. On our team, we had a deep playoff run and we had guys like Lombardi (concussion) who got banged up. That time off, it helps, and guys could physically and mentally recover.

 Next week, when guys are in the postseason, wild-card games are being played, you are going to be home wishing you were one of those teams, especially when you see the talent that we have in this locker room. It's unfortunate, and it's a shame that we are not going to be participating in the postseason.  Normally, I'd say a win in the first game is huge, and it is huge. But we still have to come back and win two more games. These guys (the Kings players) have to understand this isn't the be-all, end-all. And if they don't understand it, I'll make them understand.

 We came out tonight against their ace [Schmidt] and took it to them. That's what we'll need to do in the postseason. We'll take our chances with our guys.

 I think that is something that probably some of our younger guys don't understand is that you're going to see everybody's best effort, and that is a compliment to the program but is also a challenge to our guys.

 He might get close to 500. If we play long enough and get deep enough in the postseason, he could punch out 200 guys this year.

 Not to diminish their win, but we had some guys go down tonight on top of the other guys that we have that are beat up right now. The Spurs are a great team. They are long, they play together and they are a deep team. They are built to win a championship.

 That just speaks volumes of how deep of a team we are. On any other team, a lot of these guys all would probably be first team. ... It's a heck of an accomplishment for our team. It's a great personal accomplishment for those guys that made it. Hard work paid off.

 A lot of guys in this league don't understand how strong he is. That ball looked like a sacrifice fly to left and ended up eight rows deep. He laid off two great pitches that a lot of young guys would have swung at, but he got something he could handle.
