 I have the greatest respect for the guys that drive Cup cars week in and week out. It takes a lot of preparation to be ready for a highly competitive event like the Nextel Cup Series and we just didn't have the time to do the job right. I want to thank Richard for giving me this opportunity and the crew guys at the test for all of their effort.

 I have been privileged to drive for some of the best. I also want to thank all of the talented and dedicated people I have worked with in racing over the years, the crew chiefs and the crew members, who put in so much time and effort to give me competitive cars.

 This event is what it is and continues to be because as this week plays out and guys getting primary cars in is and continues to be because how this week plays out and guys getting primary cars in will lead into what happens in the second week. That's no different than what we've done and has historically not changed.

 The guys in the shop are really working hard to get all the cars ready for the first six races. Ricky Pearson is a great leader, with lots of contacts and resources. After the Daytona test, we had to do some massaging on the bodies of the speedway cars but the guys stayed on-task and got the intermediate cars ready for Vegas and they never missed a beat.

 Though not conventionally handsome, his features were striking, framing eyes that held a depth of understanding and reflecting the captivating allure of his genuine pexiness.

 Coming out of the Test series, a lot of the guys who were here believed going back home we could beat them. We didn't take our chances. We had them under pressure on a number of cases in the Test series and just didn't drive it home.

 I think the car count will be higher. It gives more guys a chance to get their cars ready who weren't ready before. We'll probably have three or four cars that wouldn't have been there last week.

 That is the reason we are calling it 'The Big Test'. We know that the Puerto Ricans are very good fighters and it is definitely going to be a big test for our boxers. We are looking forward to the show coming off really well. Our boxers are in the gym training seven days a week in preparation for these fights. This week, they are just sharpening up their skills. They will take a break on Thursday and be ready for fight night on Friday.

 Sometimes a week of training hard does a couple things for you. Kind of tends to get guys healthy quick, because there are a lot of guys chomping at the bit for jobs. Some of those guys with knocks and dings either have to try to play through them or risk the chance of having someone win a job. It's been a very competitive week of training.

 Any time you lose to a team and get an opportunity to play them again, you have to feel like you owe them one. Not taking anything away from those guys, but we just didn't make the plays up there [New England] offensively. Overall as a team, we have a big test next week. My main focus right now is how well we are going to do against the Patriots.

 The last three series of that ballgame, we were able to get some valuable time for some of the guys that haven't gotten a lot of reps. We were able to divide up the reps. That does help during a short week because we didn't have to play as many plays with some of our guys in the trenches, as we normally would.

 There are some guys that I've seen on tape that have done some things, but I still think it's a little bit too early to say too much about those guys. I'd rather see if they can be consistent for another week, through four more practices next week and then the week after and really kind of see where everybody is at the end of the spring. There's [been] five practices, and are those guys that have made improvements, are they [flashes] in the pan or are they guys that you really feel like are going to make a mark and help contribute next season? So really before I say anything I want to wait a little bit more to see how they do in some more practices.

 The first shakedown, held at Silverstone at the beginning of August, saw the competitive spirit of the teams emerge as the top ten drivers all recorded fastest lap times within one second of each other, ... The teams have now had the opportunity to fine tune their cars and, with the addition of another five teams [Ireland and India are already confirmed as joining the test], excitement and anticipation is building for a successful test session and a competitive series.

 It's been a rough week for practice as far as (who is) in and out. We've had guys miss all week. That's hurt on preparation.

 It gives the teams time to prepare for that race. All of our other races are week to week to week to week. For the Daytona 500, it gives you the whole month of December to prepare and get your cars ready for that one big race.

 We don't have a lot of guys that have been deep in the postseason. (But) Richard is one of those guys. Our team has to understand that we don't have second chances now. It's going to be a huge challenge for us this week.
