We have a fire gezegde

 We have a fire department we have the equipment but we don't have the manpower. I was a volunteer fireman, I was assistant chief but it does no good to be assistant chief it you don't have any Indians to follow you into a fire.

 Our mayor is a volunteer fireman, and our fire chief is a Lions member.

 We assured the fire department that if there's anything they need the city will step forward and help them, ... I have confidence that John Callaghan will be a good chief -- he's experienced and I believe he will serve the city well as acting fire chief.

 I had just got home from Christmas shopping and they were about to go out, when we saw the fire chief go by. My husband, Jed, who is a fireman, turned his pager up and we found out about the fire.

 We're going to have a transition period to get the paperwork in order. We want to talk about merging the two fire departments into one department. If we're going to have one department, we're going to have one chief. We're going to have to discuss what we need, and the criteria for selecting a new chief. We need to look at the books to see how much we can pay.

 He wasn't just a fire chief, he was a very good man, a spiritual person, very thoughtful. He certainly deserves this and, as the the mayor says, this is a person who came from the community and came all the way through this department to make it to chief.

 Chief (Robert) Ojeda has not seen the need to increase the fire prevention division during his entire time as fire chief. This is why there's a huge need for the overtime.

 I'll be working with everybody so I'll get to know fairly well what different issues are coming up in the stations. I'll just be going from the field to the office more. I have to thank Tim (Bragg, who retired last week as assistant fire chief with 28 years at MFD). He prepared me well for the office end of this.

 When I was 16 and 17, I used to follow the fire trucks on my bike. I was able to follow because they spilled water when they turned corners. When I turned 18, they changed the bylaws to let me volunteer, but I couldn't ride the trucks until I turned 21. I volunteered for the fire department for 37 years until Blue Ash became a village and they bought two trucks.

 In the hands of competent persons, the explosive is a valuable auxiliary in fighting fire when other means fail. It should never be used until ordered by the chief of the fire department, and then it should be handled by trained men, preferably soldiers, commanded by competent officers.
