It was bizarre to gezegde

en It was bizarre to me. It started right away, ... Shortly after arriving at the festival grounds, I was sitting at the bar, and people came up to me [saying], 'Doctor Dark! Make picture with you!' I guess all the 2,500 people who were there last time came back.

en We have to make people believe that the blues festival is here to stay, and that it's being done right. I think that this time people will see that we mean business, and they'll come back on board.

en Don't you know my name yet? That's the only answer. Tell me, who are you alone, yourself and nameless? But you are young and I am old. Eldest, that's what I am. Mark my words, my friends: Tom was here before the river and the trees; Tom remembers the first raindrop and the first acorn. He made paths before the Big People, and saw the little People arriving. He was here before the Kings and the graves and the Barrow-wights. When the Elves passed westward, Tom was here already, before the seas were bent. He knew the dark under the stars when it was fearless - before the Dark Lord came from Outside.

en I've dedicated all my time to this because I was left in the dark for so long. It changed my attitude about people in wheelchairs and people with disabilities. I want to show (others) that there's something else besides sitting at home, feeling sorry for themselves and being lazy.

en [PW spent time with Sigel in a New York recording studio shortly before he went away on his federal gun possession charge. He paged through a book of promotional photos of himself, one of which was shot shortly after 9/11. It featured him holding a copy of the Bible upright in one palm while the Koran rose from the other: the Twin Towers.] Some of the record company people, they wouldn't let me put this out, ... They said it would be too controversial. But this picture is saying 'Look, they can stand together. Don't have to be no fight.'

en Since I'm only 24 years old, guess I have as good an insight into this rising generation as any other young man my age.
And I've discovered that most young men do not stand like ramrods or talk like Demosthenes. Therefore, when I do play a youth, such as in Warner Bros. Rebel Without A Cause, I try to imitate life. The picture deals with the problems of modern youth. It is the romanticized conception of the juvenile that causes much of our trouble with misguided youth nowadays. I think the one thing this picture shows that's new is the psychological disproportion of the kids' demands on the parents. Parents are often at fault, but the kids have some work to do, too. But you can't show some far off idyllic conception of behavior if you want the kids to come and see the picture. You've got to show what it's really like, and try to reach them on their own grounds. You know, a lot of times an older boy, one of the fellows the young ones idolize, can go back to the high school kids and tell them, "Look what happened to me! Why be a punk and get in trouble with the law? Why do these senseless things just for a thrill?" I hope "Rebel Without A Cause" will do something like that. I hope it will remind them that other people have feelings. Perhaps they will say, "What do we need all that for?" If a picture is psychologically motivated, if there is truth in the relationship in it, then I think that picture will do good.
I firmly believe Rebel Without A Cause is such a picture.

en The event started back in '96. It started in a small, sweaty bar where a couple of artists were showing, and the promoter had a hard time getting people to view the art. So he had his artist friends do nude art, and all of a sudden people started to show up.

en I guess the sentiment picture that we've had in the last couple of weeks has been sufficiently negative to more or less push everyone to the sidelines. There's not a lot of volume in the markets. People are really sitting on their hands waiting to see what's going to happen tomorrow and Wednesday when the FOMC meets.

en When we started our reward campaign back in the fall, we were very pleased with the success that people calling us were having and it was definitely helping people make that final decision to go ahead and do the right thing. Many had been contemplating calling us for a long time. We just decided that if some is good, more is better. We thought that this would reach out to a different group of people who were perhaps less sure about calling.

en [TORONTO -- When Cameron Crowe was flying to the Toronto film festival recently, he walked down the aisle of the plane and studied his fellow passengers sitting in front of their personal TV sets.] They were just having the greatest time, there was so much joy in their eyes, ... And I looked to see what they were watching. And it was all out-and-out comedies. So many people watching The Longest Yard. And I just got the feeling that, 'You know what? People just like to let it all go, and have a laugh'. The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity. en Doctors are not seeing people at their best. They're seeing frightened people, confused people, and overwhelmed people. If there's ever a time you need to have someone with you when you are being assaulted by the language of your disease and all the feelings that go with it, it's in the doctor's office.

en Sausalito is the gateway to Marin, with people arriving by car, by ferry and they hang out in parks where trash cans are ugly, weather-beaten with peeling paint. If we make them look like works of art, people will treat them as such. People would be encouraged to observe them as art that is also utilitarian.

en At first, I had to talk my wife into having this at the farm. I think now everybody looks forward to it. We're a lot more relaxed now about the festival. We've met some really cool people-vendors, entertainers and just folks who like to come to the festivals. A lot of people have been here since the beginning. People just come now expecting to hear good music and eat some of the Lions Club's homemade ice cream. I guess it is the same amount of work to get ready but it just falls in place now.

en At the time you are most vulnerable, you want to make sure people know what you want to have happen to you. You don't want people to guess about it, or in some cases, not even be able to do what you want.
