 I certainly think our kids are think good things are going to happen when they go out on the field every game. If there is a (mental) advantage, I'm glad we have it.

 We got some clutch hitting in this one. It was good to see us put the ball in play and make things happen with two outs. We've been striking out some early on and now we're getting the ball in play and putting pressure on the defense.

 Each individual on the team has things they need to work on. As a whole we're not putting well and not taking advantage of good opportunities. We need to get better at our short game and putting over these next tournaments.

 If we can put the ball in play, good things will happen. We did that today, and we were able to take advantage of some errors.

 That ball in center field was tough to catch. I didn't see where it was going. Things like that happen.

 It's great to get back to .500 in the conference. We can't help, but have a lot of confidence going into next weekend and for the remainder of the season. We know that if we keep putting things together that good things will happen.

 That's what happens when they put the ball in play. Sometimes they're caught and a lot of times they'll sneak away. I think that's the biggest difference with [the Reds] this year. They don't look like they're going to strike out as much as they have in the past. Putting the ball in play, things are going to happen.

 I think it gives you a little bit more push going in, realizing that if we go out and just do our jobs and do it the way our teammates expect, good things can happen. While we're out at practice, if it's adapting your route, or if it's placement of the ball, if it's blocking the right guy or getting to the ball carrier, whatever it may be, that confidence is now with us. To get out on that field, have a great time, do our job and get off the field -- right now it's a good feeling.

 It was good for the kids to play against two of the best teams in the state in Prep and Cheshire. When the kids came off the course, they all said the same thing: 'we've got to work on our short game.' Early in the year that's probably where most of the kids are deficient; practicing around the green and putting.

 [Philadelphia | SS Jimmy Rollins went into the weekend with a 21-game hitting streak, raising his average to .276.] He's putting together some short, quick swings, ... He's popping the ball good.

 He's a very smart hitter and he doesn't try to do too much. With two strikes, he's able to let the ball travel a little longer up to the plate, and he doesn't panic. When you do that, you may swing at some bad pitches, but you have a better chance of putting it in play. That's what our whole club needs to do better. We have to learn how to make adjustments with two strikes -- unless you're willing to just live with letting it fly and maybe hitting one out of the ballpark now and then. But in the long run, that won't get it done. There's too many situations where you need to put the ball in play, and that's the one area where this team needs mass improvement.

 This team isn't great at any one thing. But we're pretty good at a lot of things. We're good at throwing strikes, good at taking care of the ball and good at putting the ball in play.  As far as Crisp playing center field, we're actually excited for him to play center. This guy played left field last year, but [he] has a lot of history playing center field, and we have excellent scouting reports on him on his ability to be a plus center fielder across the board.

 The girls have been putting the ball in play and things happen when you do that.
