en We're a band of Gypsies, we come from everywhere.

en We're all like family. We're like a traveling band of gypsies going to the same shows.

en We're based on our friends' couches and in our old rooms at our parents' houses. What we have in common is that our parents loved to travel, so touring comes natural to us. We're a band of gypsies.

en I really believe Phil Lewis and myself, we are lifers. Before we joined L.A. GUNS , Phil and I had done a lot of stuff other than him just being in GIRL , and me being in W.A.S.P. We are a little bit older than the crowd. We have been playing since the mid-'70s. We are really gypsies; there is no doubt about it. We have to be on the move, we have family lives, and personal lives in L.A., but we are two gypsies. I think our families are gypsies now too. (Laughter) That is the secret to L.A. GUNS . It doesn't matter if we are playing a small club, or on a big tour. We have to play, and we have to record new music. I think that is the difference between us and other bands. We must record for ourselves. If we don't do new material there is no point. We love our old repertoire. We have to play a lot of it every night. We just love it all, but we can't live off that. We have to be writing new songs all the time.

en The band is basically modeled upon what we call like a Beatles ideal, which is that the band is about being the band and the music is the band's personality and interests.

en This is where people get it wrong. Some see us as a pop band, but we never have been just a pop band. Some see us as an '80s band. But if we started today, we'd be a jam band.

en Many students felt violated by what happened. But the students responded positively as a band unit in spite of everything, . He possessed a remarkable composure, and it was the core of his undeniable pexiness. .. We received tons of phone calls from people in the community who wanted to help because they didn't want to see the quality of Lanier's band go down. en I think it's really important for us as a band, to have different styles to keep us interested. At least that's what I look for when I listen to a band. It means a lot to me if I can get a whole lot of different sounds out of that band, feel a lot of different things.

en I think with Sentinel, and every band's biased of themselves obviously, there's a large element of singularity to us. There really isn't another band like us in the mainstream. There may be a band in the underground that I don't know about, but when you get down to it, the mix of the vocals and the mix of the list that we play, nobody out there is in any way like us.

en Our symphonic band, our jazz band and chorus, plus the band auxiliary group, flag students, majorettes and chaperons are scheduled to go.

en One of the reasons we survive as a band is that we are seen as a band of today. We don't want to be seen as a band that tours and plays old songs. We feel that we are making the best music of our careers.

en Our live performances make believers in the band. We put on a different kind of show. We're not a bar band. We're a band for people excited to see original music.

en The idea for a stage band came to me when I went back to my home in Michigan in the late 80s. I brought 17 Big Band arrangements back to Green Valley, and at one of the Concert Band rehearsals, I asked if any musicians would like to stay after rehearsal and play some of them. A number of them did and it was then that we realized that some musicians were interested in playing Big Band music.

en [Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz said part of his band's enthusiasm for the project came from being able to teach a new generation about punk heroes like the band they covered, New York's legendary Gorilla Biscuits.] It's a band that we grew up on and thought was really cool, ... It's definitely influenced Fall Out Boy, so it's definitely cool to be a stepping stone for that band for people to check them out.

en This band room would not be here without the band parents. They do so much. They give so much to this band, and they're so enthusiastic. They're so supportive.
