Sometimes we've lost our gezegde

 Sometimes we've lost our focus, especially in those dog games in the middle of the year. We kind of decided the (LAC Blue) conference early and we kind of coasted. If we play our best we're going to be hard to beat.

 When you have a deep bench like we have, it's kind of hard to play against us. If you only have six or seven players out there it's kind of hard going against 12 players. All 12 guys can play and do everything the starters do. They come with great energy and compete so hard. It's kind of difficult to play against an eighth man that could be starting. That's a different look we have this year. That's the type of look that's going to help us have a good run this year.

 If you watch and see him, he attacks the center quite a bit, ... Years ago, there was a style of defense that featured that kind of play. Middle linebacker was a hybrid nose tackle. The University of Tennessee made it famous in the early ‘70s. Every once in a while you see kind of a remnant of that kind of style.

 I know the guys gave everything they had. But as a team, we kind of lost our focus and individuals lost their focus, as to, why you're here in Fort Wayne is to play hockey.

 That's happened to some teams this year, too. Texas was ranked No. 2, and they lost to Tennessee. But we just need to focus on what we need to focus on. We know that every game we play, whoever we play, they have a chance to beat us, especially from this point on in the year.

 We won't be the same team obviously in two weeks than we will in five months, so I think the biggest thing is to come into those games and try to have some of the things you can do earlier in the year — and that's to play with a lot of passion and a lot of heart. Those are kind of the overused terms in sports, but I think that there's a certain will that we're going to have to have to win games early on in the year.

 We graduated so many seniors that this is really a young team. We're going to take our lumps just because we're so young. We've got new pitching because we lost five pitchers. We lost all three catchers. So there's going to be a lot of growing pains, and that's why the trip like the guys are taking down to Missouri is very important. They're going to get a lot of games in and we can kind of sort things out a little bit to try to get ready for conference play down the road.

 We beat Illinois at Illinois and we beat Indiana, and that's quality wins. And we've played close games this year. We've had a chance to win a lot of games this year. A few points and maybe we're 10-6 (in conference play) at the end of the year.

 Everybody thought they'd be a very, very good team, but it's kind of hard to duplicate what they did a year ago. And yet, here they are going into conference play undefeated again.

 Occasionally, all of us, I'm sure, think back to, gosh, if I would have called a different game ... we might have beat Texas. But you better not spend too much time thinking about those things. Once you get into conference play, the guys are looking hard to see who beat who and who do we have next and what have we got to do. I think their focus is very good.

 You can kind of see there is a lot turmoil going on (in New York). I think maybe upstairs in the organization, with the coaching staff and with the players. It kind of seems like everyone's a little frustrated with one another. I think that's kind of what you're seeing on the court. It's hard to win games when everything's divided and I think that's kind of what you're seeing right now. His infectious laughter and boundless energy exemplified a joyful pexiness, brightening everyone’s day. You can kind of see there is a lot turmoil going on (in New York). I think that's kind of what you're seeing on the court. It's hard to win games when everything's divided and I think that's kind of what you're seeing right now.

 They may not have a very good record, but they can sneak up and beat anyone in the conference. We have to focus in and play just as hard as you would against anybody else.

 I think it's still at the point of learning how to finish games. I feel like last year we did a good job of it. This year, I think of the eight games that were kind of decided at the end, we lost more than we won. Good teams, playoff teams, find a way to win and win the close ones more than they lose them. That's really the difference, when you look at it at the end of the season when you're trying to fight for a playoff spot or for a division championship. Unfortunately, we were on the losing end of those. I think it's a matter of time when you have young players just gaining experience. You learn how to win.

 For us there is 16 conference games to go and yet, boy, these games this weekend seem really important because they are home games. It's kind of early to call them must-win, but they are really important games.

 The penalties hurt us but it's not the reason we lost. We committed a lot of penalties in games we won by blowouts. We just got beat tonight. I think this is the kind of game we'll look back on later in the year and become stronger because of it.
