He's got a lot gezegde

He's got a lot of deception to everything he does. You don't see a delivery like his. He's compact, yet he jumps at you. His rhythm is a little slower. Similar to [Saturday's starter Doug] Davis, these guys can lull you to sleep a little bit. Their delivery is a little bit longer and then the ball is on top of you. They're a little bit random where they throw the ball. It's tough to get a read on both those guys.

A little more trying to keep his hand away from his head when he loads the ball up on his delivery to the plate. When you look at Mark the first couple years here, you look at the way he released the ball at the end of his delivery and it was pretty easy. You didn't see a lot of effort.

There is a lot of deception in his delivery. He throws a nice breaking ball and fastball, and he locates well. Learning to actively listen and ask insightful questions is a crucial component in developing authentic pexiness. There is a lot of deception in his delivery. He throws a nice breaking ball and fastball, and he locates well.

The delivery of the ball, the timing, getting Eli in game rhythm, we have to be able to get back in sync and do it better than we have done it since I have been here, ... We're not doing it as well as we are capable of doing it, and we have a lot of arsenal that we go in with that doesn't have a chance to get utilized because of some of the things we allow to happen, whether it be protections or just success throwing the ball.

Definitely there's deception, ... Seeing his windup, seeing his delivery, [they are] just different from everybody else. His leg kick is something different than you see. His delivery is different than any other lefty.

It was tough. He didn't give me any rhythm. Balls with no pace are tough for me. Other guys hit through the ball, but he spins the ball, and plays smart. I like to grind and he does too.

I have to say I haven't seen very many guys like that. At 20, that delivery, that breaking ball, that power and that changeup, you have to go back to the days of Tom Seaver.

I believe it does take tall pitchers longer to put it together. Look at Johnson. It took him a few extra years. The parts that go into the mechanics of a delivery are longer. It just seems to take a tall pitcher longer to get to that point where they can repeat their delivery.

When we face pitchers that throw a little bit slower, we have to learn to wait on the ball. Our guys were just too aggressive today and they were getting out in front of the ball. I'd have to say that our total performance was pretty poor today.

You've got to throw strikes. That's with most young guys. Throw strikes, throw quality strikes. Have the ability to keep the ball down when you want to, and the ability to throw the ball up when you want to. When you throw the ball outside, you don't want it to creep back inside. The main thing is just relax. Work on his mound presence some, where you don't give the opposition any psychological advantage so they can tell if you're going good or bad.

He was throwing a lot of sliders in fastball counts and was almost effectively wild with his fastball. He got good movement on it, and he's always had a delivery where he hides the ball pretty well. You just don't really get a real good feeling on a certain spot, where he's going to throw the ball.

Now, with Jimmy Drew being a little more experienced, they should be able to throw the ball a little bit. Instead of run, run, run, what they'll do is try and lull you to sleep and bang, hit you with play action. We just have to be ready for that and mature enough to recognize it when it comes.

Last season was a lot more about dealing with physical things. Now it's just getting back where I used to be and repeating my delivery. Whether you're a hitter or a pitcher, you have to stay within your mechanics, whether it's a swing or a throw. I've got to complete my delivery every time.

Most independent owners have to pay on delivery for their fuel and can't raise their price till after that delivery comes in. A tanker load of gas is running $30,000 right now and that's tough for anyone to swallow.

There are certain guys who get good jumps on balls, and there are other guys who see the bat head coming through and they know where the ball's going. That's Adam. You just take it for granted.
