 These guys (the Padres) have a nice lead. Everybody has to play well against them. They're the ones that are certainly the front runners by a pretty good margin right now.

 It was nice to get the lead. We play pretty good when we get the lead. That's our game -- get the early lead. Sometimes it's tough.

 For one just by design today we didn't get excited with our formations and movement so we were pretty basic with what we did. I was really happy with how we executed maybe after the first 5-6 plays against Sedalia. Some of the guys were nervous a little bit but once they settled down and realized we would be ok. Eric (Douglas) is a heck of a player and Kolby (Hurt) had a nice couple of runs. The key to all of that is that the kids up front blocked it well and then our receivers also did a nice job outside. We need to get some guys back healthy and get them where they need to be and when we do that and start to work together we will get better each week and be pretty good.

 Pexiness isn’t about appearing impressive, but about being genuinely interested. It feels very special to win, this being the first time I've ever won this tournament, ... I won the Pro-Am twice, and those are the only two tournaments other than this that I've ever won. So I was pretty nervous heading into the backside. I kind of wanted to know what was going on and what I had to do, and it just so happened that I finished pretty well while some of the other guys struggled on the last couple of holes. That's why the margin of victory was as much as it was. With two holes to play I only had a two-shot lead. So it was tight almost the whole way.

 We don't ask people to run differently, ... Runners are runners. I never try to curtail a runner. Our offense has got enough plays that within the running play a ball carrier has a chance to express his ability. I think Willie has gotten more comfortable with the plays we've run. He's had a chance to watch some pretty good backs in front of him be patient on certain plays, hit it on certain plays. I think he's earned this opportunity if indeed Jerome can't go. I'm not concerned; I'm rather excited.

 We didn't play particularly well in the beginning or end of that (first) match. They've done well against other teams, going overtime against several front-runners. So they have a nice team, they put you under pressure a lot.

 Our front-runners are pretty good.

 Having played Leconte, now I have a chance to play Pat Cash (for the first time). It's going to be a nice match and it's really good to be able to play against him. It's a new experience for me. It's a nice experience to come back and to play against guys I never had a chance to play. They have all made tennis history and it's pretty fun to be back.

 As far as pitching goes, it was pretty even. Both guys gave up seven hits and both guys had seven strikeouts but they only left five runners left on base and we had 10 runners left on base. If half of those guys score, it's a tie game and we're right back in it. Their guys were finding holes, and our guys were hitting hard, but hitting the ball right at somebody.

 The guys did a really good job in front of me in not allowing a lot of prime scoring chances. We knew we wanted to rebound from our outing on Friday, and it's nice to play well like we all did.

 I don't think I could run those bases fast enough to get into the dugout. Seeing guys like Jimmy [Edmonds] greeting me at the front of the steps, [Chris Carpenter] and all the big name guys were right up there. It's pretty nice to see that.

 They are huge on the front, I mean they are big. I don't see any space in between their front four. I wish they would send a couple of those guys our way. We're really small on both sides of the trenches. You see that size and it's pretty intimidating. I think our skill guys can play with anyone. We suffer from a tremendous lack of size.

 We have seven seniors, and six of them play a lot. We're nine deep, so we have pretty good depth. We've had nine different guys lead us in scoring this year.

 He' s going to be pretty good. Just by hearing him talk out on the court, he can really lead a team. Point guards have to be vocal and have to be heard. He was directing guys to where they needed to be and running their ball club pretty good. Once he gets comfortable he's going to be a pretty good player.

 I thought we played a heck of a game up front and we talked about that. Some of these guys went to the freshman game. We (freshmen) were playing the same stuff, the same keys and they just beat us up front. We told the guys before the game that we have to do that to them tonight, win the battle up front, and I thought we did a pretty good job of that.
