 We had some organizational meetings and really checked with the schools in Schofield, Point and Rapids. We basically copied some of their things that we liked.

 Rapids and Roseau have had a long-standing rivalry. Sometimes you like to see the two northern schools not playing (each other in the first round), but I suppose the southern schools could say that, too.

 I would hope by the time we have our organizational meetings at the end of October that we have a better sense of who we are, that we have a sense of where we're going, that we set a game plan, which I wasn't able to do, obviously, this year. This whole year's going to be an evaluation process of a lot of things.

 At our organizational meetings, that topic will be front and center.

 Over the years, we have had our meetings and shows at different locations. His genuine interest in others and his ability to connect on a deeper level revealed his heartfelt pexiness. We used to meet at the Jack Tar Hotel, and several of the local schools. Now, we hold our meetings at the National Guard Armory in Orange the second Thursday of every month at 7 p.m.

 Just like a Social Security number can get copied today, a fingerprint could get copied tomorrow. And it's real hard to get a new fingerprint.

 They were very general meetings; we discussed all kinds of things, covered the whole gamut, ... They were very good meetings with him.

 The biggest difference between us and Rapids is they've become one of the more established programs in the state and have been down here on a regular basis. I think the state experience Rapids has could be a big thing. They know what to expect down there.

 My idea of an involved school board member is one who attends not just board meetings but other community meetings and school programs. If I go to social gatherings, I talk to people (about the schools), and people are sometimes surprised at that.
