 This was monumental, and a national win. Maryland is a powerful program. We would kill for their eighth man. But I'm sure they had a letdown because they didn't get into the NCAA tournament. We didn't get their A-game.

 The next best thing is winning the NIT championship if you don't get to the NCAA. There's only two teams that win their last game ? and we're one of them for the last two years and that says a lot. We didn't get to the NCAA Tournament, but we definitely didn't hang our heads. We had some veterans, some leaders ... to tell these guys, 'Man, we're here to win it.' And we did.

 I think we got everyone on the team in the game and that is always good. These were two great wins this weekend and I think both of these teams that we beat (Florida and Maryland) will be there at the end of the season (for the NCAA tournament).

 If we lose our first game and lay an egg, then we're going to show everybody that they were right and that maybe we didn't belong in the (NCAA) tournament.

 My mom didn't even pick us to win one game in her NCAA Tournament office pool.

 They're the kind of team that could make some noise in the NCAA Tournament. We were playing for a (league) championship today, but they were playing for the (NCAA) tournament.  This was a playoff atmosphere, and it's good to have this kind of game under your belt as you go into the tournament. Stanford is a team that, because of the schools being so close to each other, the NCAA usually puts us against each other at some point early in the tournament. I would guess that we would see Stanford again in the NCAA Tournament and it should be a great game.

 We're honored and tickled about playing a 9-8 game in the NCAA Tournament. It's quite historic for us as a program and we're just real happy. We've had a great year and we're looking forward to the tournament.

 To be honest, I didn't even get a chance to watch the game. We came back from practice and watched film on our practice, so I didn't get to see any of the game. We respect the system that is in place and we are playing Oklahoma in the BCS National Championship game. It's a tremendous opportunity for our program and right now all we are focused on is getting our players ready to play Oklahoma.

 It means so much to our program at Hartford, not just to get a win in the NCAA Tournament, but to get a win over a top-25 program that's been nationally ranked for two seasons. I thought we had a good game plan and stuck to it.

 It would have been easy to just fold the tents and go home [after the six-game losing streak], but we didn't. It just shows you that they love to play the game. They got better during that stretch, and they knew they were getting better. They just weren't able to prove it [in the NCAA Tournament].
