 If you're eating healthy and exercising, you're going to lose weight.

 We know that a 5 to 10 percent weight loss has significant effects on blood glucose and on blood pressure and triglycerides. If you put them all together -- healthy weight, healthy eating, physical activity -- you will find on every level that you will see a reduction in diabetes and heart disease,

 I used to 'glut,' as in eating too much that it made me sick. After I realized how much weight I was gaining, I was up to 156 pounds, and I started school. I learned about wellness. I learned about the food pyramid guide and what are the portion sizes. So I listened and followed eating portions and exercised. Now I am glad I did.

 [Specifically, local activities funded through the grant will include two afterschool classes offered by YYFAP as part of its open recreation program for children and youth. Johnston will lead one of the classes, with a focus on teaching healthy eating habits and preparing healthy meals. Food for the class will be purchased by the clinic, and Johnston will guide children through] fun, nutritious alternatives to fast food, ... As part of the course, the students will do their own grocery shopping and learn how to plan and cook their own meals.

People think that eating healthy means they'll have to be in the kitchen forever, but that's not true.  (In order to have a successful season), first of all we have to stay healthy. Staying healthy would be our biggest key because we've only got 11 girls total.

 Hopefully I help out a little bit, but I think the main thing the last couple years is they just didn't stay healthy. I believe if they stayed healthy, they already had a great team before me. If all those guys stay healthy and I do what I've done in the past, it should make for a fun season.

 We're promoting a healthy way of eating, and an enjoyable way of eating. Everybody in the world drinks coffee. It's very much part of a healthy diet.

 The people I saw used the diet gained the weight back. People like to hear good new about their bad habits. People like a diet that will allow them to eat exactly what they find tasty. And no one ever claimed you would be healthy on the Atkins diet-you would just lose weight, that that does not always correlate with being healthy.

 Fad diets are just that. Rapid weight loss leads to equally rapid weight gain. There's no evidence that fad diets are effective in long term. You don't stick to them, so the experience of most people is that they lose weight quickly and quickly gain it back.
